Jess - Haywood - Bruce The ropes cut into her wrists. The soldiers had come back and tied her to a chair, all while telling her in detail what their leader would be doing to her because of the trouble she had caused. Jess kept her head high and acted like she couldn't hear them. She also didn't speak. It didn't matter. She had been tricked and used. Now she and her child would pay the consequences. When they left her alone she whispered to her child. "I'm sorry... this is my fault... I'm so sorry my angel..." The door opened and Jess closed her eyes against the light. She didn't open them again until a light was turned on. Seeing him again this close... it took everything in her not she start hyperventilating. When he started listing her crimes she tried to defend herself but he interrupted her. "But he was... I didn't mean... I was about to pass out and the doctor wanted to make sure the baby-" she gasped as she head jerked to the side from the slap. Her cheek turned bright red as tears gathered. "Don't-!" she started to cry when he nearly touched her. When he started to leave she couldn't take it anymore. What made a difference what happened to her now? He wouldn't kill her. He was going to barter her off to who she was certain was Tyler. "He said something bad was going to happen to me!" she exclaimed. "He said he'd get me out! Then he left me behind! He just used me to get away himself! He used me, then left me! Just like you did!" When he paused she moved her head to try and toss her hair out of her face. "You don't even remember me do you?! How you used me and hurt me then left me behind! You don't even care!" she accused. "You are going to barter off your own child to a man who is the devil! You don't even give a damn!" she fairly screamed. "I'm carrying your child you hateful, horrible, evil man! Your son will be raised as a murdering thief! Your daughter will be farmed like livestock! And me... I'll be abused until I die of it. How can you not even care?" she asked, her anger giving way to sadness and despair. She began to cry. "Please tell me you feel something for your own child." She didn't know what hurt more, that he didn't remember something that devastated her or that her poor child would be in the hands of the devil himself. "It is yours," she said, her voice low and shaking. "I didn't do anything with any other man after you. Please, I begged you once and I am begging you again : trade me away if you want, but wait until my baby... our baby... is born and keep it out of Tyler's hands. The thought of him even touching it..." she trailed off and bent as far as she could, trying to curl protectively around her stomach. "You can't let him have our child... please... please..."
