This forest resembled a maze one had to carefully navigate through in fear of accidentally losing their way. The sprightly elf knew these identical timbers like the back of her hand since spending nearly every waking minuet living in them. Her agile body leaped over and ducked under low bearing branches and vine like roots till eventually reaching the final clearing of trees. Blades of grass spanned a vast open pathway to the tiny Izumo village resting soundly. In the horizon smoke bellowed upward from an ancient temple painting the sky with flecks of burning ash. It was a wonder no one seemed to notice this event but like Mathias had stated a curfew system was currently in place here. Lumen remained cautious unsure of what to expect from the village for she had never paid a visit to this place during the nighttime hours. Thinking it unwise to simply walk through the center road and along the traditional style houses made of bamboo, the nearly camouflaged elf remained along the outskirts of the forest. She progressed as stealthily as one could with a towering wooden staff and inched closer to the location of the burning shrine. She finally found the opportunity to sprint toward the clear land while avoiding the lax patrol where the Sect stood ablaze. Upon arrival the roaring flames seemed to surround and disorient her even from standing a fair enough distance away. No signs of life seemed to struggle or scream from inside the dwelling so far or perhaps she simply did not make it in time. Was this a declaration of war?
