Having developed quite a liking towards calling other people 'children' and 'kiddies', even though they may appear to be gigantic behemoths of raw, overpowered strength or wizards with ten-foot long beards, he's an experienced, if not slightly irritating person. He likes to quote things that no one in that day and age even cares about, and is pointlessly enamoured with children's card games, to the extent where he single-handedly founded an association between card-game fans in Agar Mythos. Always keeping a calm tone outside of his hobbies, and rarely showing his anger, depending on the person you ask, he's either a calm and collected AI, or one with a dysfunctional emotion simulation program. Regardless, he doesn't care what humans think. He also doesn't seem to care about personal space, though, nor does he consider questions about someone's personal history is something that should be avoided until they were closer to each other. Ultimately, an old man in an adolescent's body, who has a fascination with the pasts of others, enjoys quoting things from 50 years ago, and plays children's card games. [hider=Origin Myth] In the beginning, Agar Mythos was but a desolate wasteland, devoid of life, emotion, reason. It was a chaotic, empty place, in which nothing died or lived, a world where unintelligent beings pointlessly milled around. Yet, one day, gods took notice of that reasonless place, and with the power of creation at their fingertips, they began to create intelligent beings to fill the land. Soon, history was being made, and culture was being developed. But none of those created beings were interested in recording their histories. Even as their own kind died, they would simply fade away from memory, eventually becoming forgotten by the vast majority. There was no heaven or hell for the residents of Agar Mythos. Simply decay and vanishment. There was, though, one god who disliked this. Even gods themselves did not possess the ability to remember all those who have disappeared through the times. When time passed, the past was forgotten, and could never be accessed again. That was what the Archive of Fates and Times, Averus Horo, was created for. A direct creation by a God, possessing a scarf whose fibers were lined with letters that formed a history of all recorded events since Averus's inception, the Archive travelled the world, endlessly wandering. He appeared when new champions were born, to record their physical data. He recorded every mission that was ever done, recorded every fight between champions. Bearing knowledge of everything in the world, his scarf grew to immeasurable lengths and every moth, Averus had to start a new one, storing each story-scarf in a library that could only be considered a treasure trove of information. And every time a Champion falls, death finally claiming their bodies, Averus is there, taking the last remains of their existence, their Equipment, and creating a grave for them, the only sign that they once existed in the lands of Agar Mythos.[/hider] [hider=Powers] Event Warp – As an archivor who unfortunately does not have omniscience, Averus must travel to every location physically, thus demanding that he develop some more 'instant' methods of travel. Event Warp is a teleportation skill that gives him limitless range, but require that the location he wishes to teleport to be at least five miles away. Furthermore, this skill requires three minutes of channel time with another ten minute long cooldown, as well as only being able to bring himself along, not with any other objects. Annoyingly enough, that means he can't use Event Warp for something like robbery. God Knows – Being one of the oldest beings in Agar Mythos, and quite possibly the one that has experienced the most events, Averus has developed a certain degree of precognition, in which, correlating with his extremely acute scenes and environmental factors, allows him to predict with great accuracy the next event that would occur within five seconds. While, in combat, this would be lowered to only about one second, and he would still be unable to predict truly random attacks, his ability to predict and plan ahead of time is still something that he takes pride in. This could be akin to being able to think multiple steps ahead in a card game, but he rarely exhibits that skill while playing children's card games. Something about it being boring if he tried too hard. Shatter Edge – As a champion, even though his 'true' role is that of a historian, Averus possesses a single note-worthy combat skill, that of the manifestation of Shatter Edges. These blades of light are, according to flavor text, creating through the distortion of space itself, creating a weapon that is immensely sharp, but also pitifully fragile. A weapon that is purely for offensive purposes, it seems, with absolutely no protective abilities. Luckily, Averus never really was a defensive person to begin with, considering everything else in his 'kit' centers around dodging. He can throw out around five Shatter Edges at a time. Inheritance – With a signed contract, Averus is able to, upon the death of a champion, obtain all their equipment. The equipment will be 'deactivated', in that they'll be functionally useless, and thus prevent him from getting any ideas about selling those items to others for a profit. With those items, he is able to build a proper memorial for champions who have been lost in Agar Mythos.[/hider] [hider=Equipment] Archive of Fates – The scarf that Averus wears around his neck, the Archive of Fates is an item that constantly records the situation surrounding the AI, noting all five senses with the same acuity of Averus's own. Every now and then, it will grow a centimeter or so longer, and by the time one month has passed, the Archive of Fates will have grown long enough to reach the back of Averus's knees. It should be noted that the Archive works as a computer, capable of accessing all other previous incarnations of the Archive remotely, thus giving Averus a treasure trove of reference material whenever he requires it.[/hider]
