I don't really see much of a difference between the words 'Mudkip' and 'Magikarp.' Sure, they sound different, yet they both start with the letter 'm' and end with the letter 'p.'

Also, he never did hallucinate. I was pointing out how he was neither blind or hallucinating in that context.
