[/quote] This is not a vampire of folklore, but the vampire of gothic literature that was invented in the 19th century. The weakness to sunlight is particularly egregious, as it was not even in such works as Dracula or Carmilla, and the earliest example I can find of it would be in the 1922 film Nosferatu. Please do not claim that others are "bastardizing" myths if you are not drawing from them, yourself.
