Magnus might could simply kill Miller but Lambda interfered by jumping in between them and opened some of these portals who shot energy swords at Magnus.
Also 2 truck fully loaded with SOLDIER units arrived, these men also opened fire. It wouldn't take long until more would arrive with better equipement.
