Name: Kurt Wagner Age: 18 Alias: Nightcrawler Abilities: Teleportation – Kurt is able to transport him as well as others to another location instantly. This is done by displacing himself temporarily though an alternate reality before reappearing at his pre-decided destination. His abilities limit Kurt to only be able to transport up to two miles at a time, as well as becoming tired if he uses his gift too much. However Kurt did once manage to transport himself halfway across the planet once, due to an incident where he was trapped inside the alternate reality for a few days. After teleporting he leaves behind smoke and a faint scent of burning brimstone, as well as a loud “bamf” noise. Spacial Awareness – While only a minor ability, this prevents him from teleporting into solid objects within his immediate vicinity, but this ability diminishes the greater the distance he teleports. Because teleporting into other solid matter would cause severe injury or death, he will only teleport to an area he is familiar with or that he can clearly see at the time or has seen in the past. His power automatically displaces liquids and gases when he arrives. (This bit was totally not copied from Wikipedia) Appearance – Due to being merged with one of his Bamfs, Kurts appearance has been greatly differed. When out of light (up to consideration), his skin turns a dark shade of indigo, as well as giving him two-toed feet and three-fingered hands, yellow eyes, pointed ears and a prehensile tail. His indigo skins helps him blend into the shadows, while Kurt’s morphed limbs enable him to scale walls and buildings easily. Skills: Fencing – Kurt is an adequate fencer, having practised it for sometime after joining the institute. Multilingual – Due to him growing up in Germany, Kurt is able to speak German fluently. His English is great too, although he’s not fluent. Personality Traits: Since Kurt grew up in a religious background, and hated his life for a number of reasons, one being that his father was a member of the Nazi party, so Kurt grew up believing that sin ran in the family due to his uncle also being a drunkard and his older brother being sent to prison for murder. This hatred for himself and his family escalated extremely after Mister Sinister experimented on him, turning him into a “blue demon”. However Kurt is a very friendly person, caring deeply for those close to him. He doesn’t let this show often though and prefers to spend time alone. Backstory: Kurt grew up in a wealthy family in a small town in Germany. His father was a firm follower of the Nazi party, while his mother raised him as a Roman Catholic. He had a strong dislike for his father, who when not insulting Kurt and his mothers religion, would beat them while drunk. During 1939, Kurt’s father was put in charge of a nearby concentration camp, where he would often bring Kurt so that the boy could learn what it meant to have nothing and that he was lucky to have such a caring father as he. Unbeknownst to his father, Kurt discovered his power, transporting himself into the middle of a field in the middle of the night. Believing that God wanted him to use his powers to help the people at the camp, he began to train. After a few weeks he had grasped how to go about teleporting so Kurt decided it was time. Unfortunately he was caught. The prisoners he was trying to rescue were slaughtered. His father disowned him, although luckily his mother stayed with him as Kurt went on the run. Eventually his father caught up to him, but before his father shot him, Kurt’s mother jumped in front, sacrificing herself for her child. Going into a fit of rage, Kurt disappeared angrily, only never to appear this time. A week later, Kurt awoke in an alleyway and to his shock discovered that he was in the city of New York. What more, he found that around him lay a group of tiny blue demonic looking creatures. There were about twenty in total, each with two-toed feet and three-fingered hands, yellow eyes, pointed ears and a prehensile tails. The creatures, which he named Bamfs in regards to the noise he could constantly hear as they teleported about, followed him for weeks, as he looked for work and money in the city. Kurt was soon approached by a strange gentleman who introduced himself to him as Mister Sinister. He insisted that he could cure the now teenage boy of his curse so of course Kurt let the man “help”. Sinister however had other plans. Capturing one of Kurt’s Bamfs, he merged it with Kurt. To his horror the German found himself looking like one of the beastly things that had been bothering him for so long. After much effort he managed to escape Sinister before returning to a life on the streets, keeping to the shadows as best as he could. Notes: Couldn't really find a decent live action Nightcrawler so just picture Dylan O'Brien with blue skin and yellow eyes!
