It was as Shakuntala had drifted to sleep that Rory let out a yell, jolting her awake, and she was up in seconds, grabbing her sword and crawling out the tent, seeing Targen doing the same.

She couldn't see Rory, and she yelled "RORY!" She could see where he had fallen, where he would have yelled, and the ground torn up as he struggled. He was gone. 

"Rory!" She started to run, to chase him and whatever had taken him. He couldn't be hurt, but that didn't mean he couldn't be killed just because he was a robot.
