Born in a small port in Italy, it was only by luck that Protettore grew up to become the most feared mafia boss in all of Italy. He was born to his parents Alexandre and Gianna Rousseau, who were both vampires, making him a pureblood. Pureblood vampires are rarer than changelings, and also more powerful, and it was only a matter of time before he became more powerful than his own parents. But as he was growing up, he didn't embrace his vampire side as much as he should have. His parents were living in a village full of humans and had ordinary lives, so Protettore was surrounded by humans growing up. He became so attached to them that his father would have to filter blood into a cup for him to drink because he couldn't stomach the thought of biting a human. His parents had no trouble adapting to his chosen lifestyle, but the same could not be said for his grandfather. Giancarlo, his mother's father, was a pureblood just like himself and possessed an incredible amount of power. With that power he controlled the most powerful family in Italy, the Provenza clan, consisting of vampires, and planned for Protettore to join when he became old enough. But one look at his grandson made him turn up his nose and formally disown him from any inheritance he would get, his mother included.

But his parents lead a stable enough life where they could remain living comfortably in the small port town and Protettore grew up without any worry. Hiding his vampire side was not hard, since he was scared about biting humans in the first place, and as long as he was fed it wasn't a problem. 

When he was reaching nine years old, tragedy struck. Pirates raided the town one night, and if they had been normal humans his parents could have fought them off. But they were not like normal pirates and were in fact a gang of supernatural beings. Most of them turned into wolves and fought with his parents, but there was one that resembled a simple human being. But he ended up being the biggest threat. He was an exorcist and with one touch of his hands, both of his parents dropped to the group. Horrified, young Protettore had to watch as his parents were collected on the back of the wolves and taken away. Tori was left alone in his house for two weeks until an unlikely savior arrived. Another pirate shipped arrived at the dock, and along with it, two strange men appeared. Through a misunderstanding they thought he was the one who destroyed the home and took his parents away, until he admitted his name was Protettore. As it turned out, one of the men was his long-lost uncle, his father's brother, who had recently came into contact with Alexandre and was there to visit, only to find the house in complete disarray. When his uncle found out that his brother and wife had been taken by a band of pirates, he vowed to save them and return them to Italy. But he couldn't just leave there Protettore alone, so they packed up his stuff and took him aboard their pirate ship.

Apparently, the other man Protettore's uncle was with was the captain of a notorious pirate ship called TheFlyingDeath. Everyone on board were also vampires, with the exception of the humans they kept in the cellars for food, and Tori was surprised to find that his own uncle was the first mate. Now that they had more of a chance to talk, Tori came to discover a lot of things about Trixxtal. Despite being a pirate, he wasn't a bad guy and seemed trustworthy enough. It was Jecht, the captain and Trixxtal's  strange companion that scared him the most. But the rest of the crew members were nice and welcomed him with open arms, and for a while, he wasn't alone anymore.

But Tori's life would never be that easy, and after only a day of being on the ship, it was attacked by the very same pirates that took his parents. Captained by a werewolf, the pirates attacked the FlyingDeath and a deadly fight broke out. Even Tori ended up participating in a battle against a young magician, his first physical fight ever. He didn't win, but he didn't loose either, and he was able to hold his head up along with the other victorious crew members. But disaster struck when they discovered that Trixxtal had been taken away to the enemy ship in the midst of battle. Now without his uncle on board, he was truly alone and was forced to deal with Jecht's wrath with the rest of the crew. But they continued their search for Tori's parents, now with the renewed goal to save Trixxtal, so Tori remained on board.

Somewhere between then and recovering Trixxtal, Jecht began training Tori to get stronger. Under Jecht's strict teachings, Tori learned how to become the vampire he was always meant to be, but his parents sheltered him from. By the time they found NeverIsland, the island where the werewolves were hiding, Tori was already a coldblooded killer. Despite his young age, he once again participated in the battle but this time, with more blood lust. He fought to kill and took no prisoners, astounding even Jecht. He was overjoyed when they successfully recovered Trixxtal and his parents and returned to Italy. But Tori, and everyone else, would soon come to discover that he was not the same child he had been before stepping on board that pirate ship. He no longer drank blood from cups and instead hunted for his prey on his own, even going as far as killing humans. His parents weren't angry with his progression, but they wished that he would return to being their baby boy again. But the change was irreversible and Tori soon found himself craving a more adventurous life than the boring one he had in Italy. So when he was fifteen, he joined Jecht on his adventures and became apart of his crew once more.

He was surprised to find that Trixxtal had left the FlyingDeath, but that didn't deter him from joining Jecht's crew. Now that he was there a member instead of simply being there because he was Trixxtal's nephew, he was treated like one of the crew and received no special treatment. But it wasn't hard to see that Jecht still treated him like an apprentice and they had more of a father-son relationship than Tori had with his own biological father. During his second time at sea, Tori became more angry and vengeful than ever before, picking up many of Jecht's characteristics without noticing that remained with him as he grew up. But eventually, the age of piracy wore out and Jecht retired from being a pirate and Tori returned to Italy. His parents were even more displeased with the monster he had become and sent him off to live with his grandfather, Giancarlo.

Life in the mafia family wasn't much different from being on Jecht's ship, and since he was the Don's grandson, he[i] did[/i] receive special treatment. He rose through the ranks rather quickly, just like his father had years before, but he also came to surprise everyone with how strong he was. Jecht's training had left him with many skills that could apply to the mafia and any displeasure Giancarlo had for Tori when he was child had completely disappeared. Years passed and Tori remained in his grandfather's family, growing up into a frightening young man with more power than he knew what to do with. He soon began to grow bored within the Provenza family and found entertainment elsewhere, usually picking fights with the other vampire mafia clans around Italy. One day he picked a fight with a high ranking member of the Giordano family, earning him the unwanted attention of the Don. 

He challenged Tori to a battle, if he was so brave to fight own of his men, and Tori, who was young and hotblooded, agreed without a second thought. The fight was the worst Tori had ever been in, and for a moment he honestly thought he was going to die, but through sheer willpower, he came out victorious. As in tradition, the Don surrendered to Tori and offered his title, and family to Tori for winning. But Tori didn't want to earn respect like that and refused. But he did quit the Provenza family to join the Giordano's, so that he could work his way up the ranks there. Giancarlo was not pleased with Tori's decision and demanded that he stayed in there family, but Tori refused and instead challenged [i]him[/i] to a fight. Surprisingly, Tori won the fight and became Don Provenza, only to formally resign and join the Giordano's.

With his power evident to everyone in the family, it was no surprise that he climbed the ranks in a matter of months. It was only a short while until he became the Don's right hand man, and then a few years later, he challenged him again to a fight, but this time he was ready for the consequences. He beat the Don for a second time and officially became Don Giordano, a title he has held ever since. He has fired or killed many of the old members and replaced them with his own men that he could trust, but one of the few he carried over was friend Vencentio Russello, who had been with him when he was rising through the ranks as a Giordano grunt. He made Vencentio his right hand man and completely changed around the Giordano family's way of life, catering it his own wants and needs. This has proven very successful as he is now the most powerful mafia Don in all of Italy, and probably the world. He works closely with the Provenza family and many other families across the country. The only other family who has enough balls to go against him is the Rioz family, but Tori has plans in the near future to bring them down too.

[u]Giancarlo Provenza[/u] - Maternal grandfather. Pureblood. Tori used to be a disgrace to him but now Gianocarlo cannot be prouder of his grandson. He loves to tell people about how his "strong grandson" kicked his ass in a fight and backs him up 100%. Him and his family are responsible for most of the dirty work the Giordano family does.
[u]Jacques Marquis[/u] - Paternal grandfather.Human. Died many years before Protettore was born, but his father said that if he had been alive, he would have been ecstatic that he had a grandson.

[b]Grandmothers;[/b]
[u]Renee Provenza[/u] - Maternal grandmother. Pureblood. In name only. Giancarlo was already with another woman by the time Tori was born and he has only met Renee once or twice in his life. Last time he heard she was in the Caribbean. 
[u]Madeleine Marquis[/u] - Paternal grandmother. Human. Died many years before Protettore was born. Loved children and would have loved him too.

[b]Father;[/b]
[u]Alexandre Rousseau[/u] - Biological father. Changed Vampire. He and Tori had a great loving relationship when he was a child, but all that changed when Tori went to live with Jecht. Their current relationship is rocky, but stable, only after many years of fighting. Protettore much prefers his uncles over his parents any day.

[b]Mother; [/b]
[u]Gianna Rousseau[/u] - Biological mother. Pureblood. Tori was closer to her than his father as a child, so she was the one most willing to accept his new personality. His relationship with her is much better than his father, but they still don't see eye to eye, especially now that Tori is a mafia don. He still sends her mother's days cards.

[b]Siblings; [/b]
[u]Anastasio Rousseau[/u] - Biological brother. Pureblood. Anastasio was born many years after Tori, during the years he was off living with Giancarlo, so he wasn't around for most of his childhood. But once Tori found out he had a little brother, it was hard to separate them. He was the only one Tori was warm to, and to this day Tori is very protective of him. He was reluctant to let Anastasio join the mafia family, knowing how rough and brutal it got, but he eventually agreed, if only to keep an eye on him. He feels much safer now that Izel is looking after him, but Tori still worries from time to time.

[b]Uncles;[/b]
[u]Trixxtal Rutella[/u] - Biological uncle. Changed Vampire. During the short time they were on the FlyingDeath together they had a good relationship. After Trixxtal was rescued, Tori only had a few more days with him until they reached Italy, but Trixxtal said that if Tori ever needed anything, he would be there. It would a couple more years until they saw each other again, when Tori joined Jecht's crew, but it was only for a short while because Trixxtal was just picking up his belongings from the ship. More years passed until Jecht retired and Tori saw Trixxtal again. He was living in America in the colonies and Tori stayed with him for a few months before returning back to Italy. Over the next years Trixxtal would come to visit, sometimes with Jecht, other times alone, but he remained a constant presence in his life. He wasn't quite caring enough to fill the mother roll, or strict enough to be his father figure in his life, but he played the part as uncle very well. Currently, he and Trixxtal's relationship is as good as it ever has been and Tori will never pass the chance to have his uncles visit. 

Even though Trixxtal is biologically his uncle, Tori addresses him as his father and has dubbed him the grandfather of his children.

[u]Jecht Rutella[/u] - Adoptive Father. Changed Vampire. In a surprising turn of events, Jecht is the closest person Tori knows that he considers a father, despite being the only one who isn't blood related to him. During his time on Jecht's ship as a child and teenager, although hard and challenging, has made him come to love and respect him as a parental figure. Everything he did in his grandfather's famiglia, and then his own, was to make Jecht proud of him. He won't ever call Jecht "father" to his face and will always address him by his name, but will always strive to be the best son he can be to him.

[b]Partners; [/b]
[u]Celia Donati[/u] - Lover. Pureblood. Celia is a member of a lower family that serves the Giordano family. She immediately caught Tori's attention when he was a grunt, and when he became Don he started to request more things from her family, and that it should all be delivered by her personally. They fell into a romantic relationship that still remains intact to this day, but not as intense. They have a child together named Donatella and she lives with Celia in a house away from the mafia families.

[b]Children;[/b]
[u]Ryoichi Rousseau[/u] - [color=ed1c24]SUBJECT TO CHANGE[/color] - Adoptive son. Changed Vampire. Ryoichi was an orphan living on the streets of Japan with Ryuunosuke. The orphanage they had lived in had burnt down, forcing them to live on the streets. They were about to die of starvation when Protettore came across them and gave them money for food. The next night he returned and offered them food himself. The next day he brought another man with him and took them back to Italy. From that point on Ryoichi has lived as the son of Protettore and Vencentio and the brother of Ryuunosuke. He is constantly eager for his father's approval and would do anything to please him. He was a human, but made the decision to be changed into a vampire by Vencentio when he got old enough. 
[u]Ryuunosuke Rousseau[/u] - [color=ed1c24]SUBJECT TO CHANGE[/color] - Adoptive son. Changed Vampire. Ryuunosuke was adopted alongside Ryoichi by Protettore and Vencentio and they treat him like their son. In Tori's eyes there is no difference between Ryo and Ryuu and loves them both the same, but is tired of them fighting for his attention and has left them to sort it out themselves. He was originally a human but was changed into a vampire by Vencentio when he was old enough.
[u]Donatella Giordano[/u] - Biological daughter. Pureblood. Dontella is his daughter with Celia and lives in a mansion with her mother. She has been prohibited from the fortress by Tori so she doesn't get mixed up with his mafia business, but he still sees her every week. He isn't scared of Donatella joining the family when she gets older, but for now, he want to preserve her childhood, just like he did with Ryoichi and Ryuunosuke.

[b]Subordinates;[/b] 
[u]Vencentio Russello[/u] - Changed vampire. Friend. Vencentio was a member of the Giordano family when Tori kicked Don Giordano's ass and became one of his first friends when Tori joined. Tori was paired with Vencentio many times for assignments and missions that brought the two together. When Tori became Don Giordano he immediately promoted Vencentio to his right hand man, as there was no one he trusted more to fill the role, and they have remained that way ever since. When Protettore adopted Ryuu and Ryo, Vencentio was the one who took care of them while he was working, leading them to believe that he and Tori are their parents. Protettore harbors romantic feelings for Vencentio but has not made a move, and probably will not do so any time soon.
[u]Ampellio Ruggiero[/u] - Pureblood. Alpha. Ampellio was one of the members that remained in the family when Tori took over. He was a grunt just like Protettore, but he could see that he was different from everyone else and decided to keep him in the family, even promoting him to be right under Vencentio. While everyone else is scared or uncomfortable by him, Protettore only sees him as a subordinate and doesn't understand what all the fuss is about. He is fully aware of the feelings Ampellio harbors for him, and he sometimes uses that to his benefit. If anything he admires Ampellio's undying loyalty to him.
[u]Valente Mancini[/u] - Wizard. Employing Valente had been a spur of the moment decision, but Tori hasn't come to regret it...yet. For all of the grief that the wizard causes, both with his mafia family and his literal family, Tori is glad to have such a powerful wizard by his side. He keeps Valente safe because of their mutual agreement they made when Valente joined, but over the years, he has genuinely become fond of the wizard. He wouldn't say that they would be considered friends, but Tori doesn't hate his company.
