L'esta was earnestly glad to see Shu back, as were the majority of the city's denizens. It had only been a short time since he'd been here and already a good bit of chatter had begun about the boy. It was no surprise then as they got into the bulk of the city that people were sending greetings his way, and even to his brother. "T'charrl spends much of his time busy with duties as I understand it, so he doesn't get to do very much. Having a friend like you is a nice change for the boy, so any time you can put aside for him I'm sure he'd appreciate." the Captain explained, smiling as he waved to a group of children who were shouting merrily on the side of the street. "I understand if you're busy though, especially with the matter at hand. Just please bear in mind he would like to spend some time with you whenever you can." "We're finding someone who can help us figure out who we can trust," Takeshi explained simply, crossing his arms as he walked. "And no, we're not going to fight Shu. That'd be overkill and this isn't our war to fight in, we're just giving a little nudge to our friends, that's all." The entire matter still didn't make complete sense to him after all. What these sides seemed to be fighting over was the energy the planet gave off, though why they couldn't just share confused him. He also failed to understand why it was that the General needed to wipe these people out entirely to secure it, that seemed like overkill. "What's with the glow in the ceilings, by the way?" Takeshi asked, looking up as he spoke. "That looks like the same stuff that's firing out of those pillars..." "That is the very same energy, you're right. Those veins are what it looks like when trapped in rock. It crystallizes but continues to flow, and at the same time the energy within the crystal gives off that light. I'd go into detail about it but that is beyond me, I'm only a soldier." L'esta chuckled to himself as they neared the palace, giving a shake of his head. "The bookworm of a doctor would be able to explain it if you're curious though. Good luck stomaching his banter for any longer than five minutes. There's a reason my personnel o their best not to get injured, it's so they don't have to face Renthal." Takeshi didn't get a single word that the Captain had said, having no clue who this doctor was either. That energy was interesting, and the crystals seemed familiar somehow. He couldn't quite place it, but he had definitely seen that somewhere before on this world. Shaking his head of the thought he glanced up as they reached a rather impressive set of gates, feeling a bit excited to see what the big deal with this Queen was. "Hey Shu...? I'm thinking you should do the talking here. Knowing my luck I'll say something that'll get us executed..." Takeshi mumbled, smiling sheepishly as he gave his brother a sidelong glance, "That means killed, if you didn't know. So... You do the talking." During their brief conversation L'esta had waved down a royal guard and sent for the Prince to meet them. Seeing as he wasn't normally on duty in the palace he couldn't freely enter, a resident of the building would have to bring the boys in. "This is where I'll leave you for the time being, I'm not permitted inside just now. Best of luck to you both, and give the prince my regards, will you? I've got to get back to recon duty." Not sounding at all enthusiastic about that the Captain left the boys with a small bow, making his way back across the bridge into the city.
