If you're wondering why the character lacks depth it's because he's an Orc. I'm racist like that.
Name/Aliases: Norak Sex: Male Race: Orc Age: 68 Appearance: Norak stands at an impressive seven foot three inches high, though for an Orc such a height is fairly average. His skin is an incredibly tough leathery dark-green to the point of almost looking black at the right angle. These things are a serious mark in Orcish society of an aged warrior, met with either respect or contempt depending on he who bears it. Norak is marked with many long scars, which etch his body like runes. The right side of his face is marked by the claw of a bear or some other beast, with his right canine noticeably chipped by the same impact. Otherwise, his body is muscular to the point of grotesque, on par with modern-day body builders. It’s this build which accounts for his weight, roughly 175kg of pure muscle and death. Personality: Norak is of average intelligence, but not for an Orc. In his society he’s a relatively fresh thinker, with a long life of experience in war and other matters, but mostly war. He tends to think deeply about issues, for at least five seconds or so, which is a whole five seconds longer than most of his race. Due to his peculiar circumstances, Norak does not balk from death, literally, he’s not just brave, and he’s fatalistic to a huge degree. However, this doesn’t make him suicidal, rather he seeks glory, which gives him an arrogant attitude that can make him incompatible to some. History: Norak has lived arguably the ideal life of any Orc. Born the second son of a Warchief ruling a tribe of Orc in the Zephyr Plains, he earned his right to challenge his sire for control of the tribe after defeating a particularly troublesome ‘megabear’ which is exactly what it sounds like. Inevitably, he won the conflict, hence why he’s still alive. After ruling the tribe for thirty long years, he grew exasperated with his tribes inability to provide warriors capable of defeating and replacing him. After one particularly good day of hunting he decided, why have his legacy wiped away by some new upstart? So, for the first time in recent history, a Warchief stepped down from his position and sought glory in death outside the plains. Fast forward to the present day, Norak hires himself out to hopeless missions with high pay-offs, surrounded by weaklings the aged warrior grows ever more exasperated, hoping his next battle will be his last. Equipment: Iron plate Hauberk, Orc Style, with realistic battle damage and leather pauldrons. Iron shin guards and tough leather boots, leather bracers, iron gauntlets and iron half-helm. Steel War Axe, one handed. Iron Longsword, one handed. Iron rimmed wooden round-shield. Sharpening cloth. Survival kit (food, water, very basic essentials, and a rope… maybe just this once I might need it.) Faction (If any): Ex-Warchief of the Braken Tribe Marital Status: Widowed twice Magic (Mundane or Arcane): Mundane Skills: Melee and thrown weapon mastery, passable bow shot, advanced combat/battle tactics. Basic wound treatment (herbal) decent orator (for an essentially tribal peoples, may be less effective at rousing a bunch of human merchants.) Black-Skin: Aged Orcs from the area Norak originates from darken in colouration as they age. This is a signifier that their skin is toughening, reducing their flexibility but making them more durable and resistant to harm in battle. Most Orcs wish to end their lives in glorious battle at this stage, because they’re so surprised they’ve made it this long. Negatives: Lacks subtlety, brutally honest, lacks etiquette, lacks tact, lacks knowledge of foreign social conventions. Aged, which makes surprisingly little difference in terms of an Orc warrior, but comes with some negatives of itself. Average intelligence comparatively to a human, making him fairly plausible to trick, though not laughably easily. Has to eat a lot.
