There's a difference between accepted and welcome. The Compendium is for accepted characters, the OOC or PMs are for welcome characters which are open to either being accepted, denied, or accepted pending changes. The shiny warning about competence is also not on this thread specifically, it's part of a Guild rule which states very clear standards for joining an advanced RP. That being said, you don't appear to be incompetent, so I personally have no worries about that.
