Splendid. I'll get these CSes here finished up then fix up the main post :)
Name: Gero Anima Age: 42 Gender: Male Personality: The generous CEO and founder of G-Chronus Timepieces, Gero believes in the power of money before the power of his deck. While still confident in his duelist abilities, he confesses that he would much rather sell his G-Clock Duel Disks as opposed to using them. Rarely silent, but always well-dressed and well-mannered, his recent interests in Duel Monsters have stirred some rumors in the office, but nothing like the conspiracy theories that line the streets. As for public outlooks, Gero openly confesses that such phenomena as the heart of the cards and records of some monsters having a level of independant existence fascinate him, but denies that there's anything more to it than fascination. He often uses his spare money to host Duel Monsters tournaments, happily accepting entrants new and old. Gero is also a notable benefactor toward efforts to make the less desirable areas of Anima City into better places to live. He claims to feel personally responsible for such places, given his heritage. Brief Bio: It's no secret that the Anima family founded Anima City long ago, though nobody alive today is sure just how long ago. Gero dissolved the family's previous business to found G-Chronus Timepieces. Claiming that being mindful of the time is important whether you're spending another tedious day at the office or taking on the finals in a Duel Monsters tournament, Gero's company for a long time sold primarily watches, calendars, and clocks. About four years ago, G-Chronus Timepieces introduced a new form of Duel Disk: the G-Clock Duel Disk. Partially a scientific study and partially an expansion of the company's clientele, Gero openly admitted his primary goal with these Duel Disks was to study such phenomena as the heart of the cards. While irked by some less desirable public opinions on the Duel Disks, Gero continues to have his company produce and sell these G-Clocks. He also hosts various Duel Monsters tournaments, which can also serve to some as a test run for these newfangled Duel Disks. She also boasts terrible social skills, way too much pride in her own abilities as a duelist, and a very short fuse. This isn't to say she's a bad person, just that she doesn't get along with people. The reality of the fact is that she's something of a hero in Anima City's Obsidian District, the run-down corner of town where crime and danger lurk around every corner. If nothing else, she has a strong sense of justice, and makes it her duty to find and capture the bad guys of Obsidian District, generally using whatever she can loot from them to cover her lack of any actual employment. Despite the state her family has been in these last few years, Alex still takes the Deepwick family's honor very seriously. Brief Bio: The last child of the since-ruined Deepwick family, Alex's family history is one of pride leading to disgrace. Initially co-founders of Anima City, the Deepwick family found quick and easy fortune selling Duel Disks, Duel Runners, and other dueling wares. Four years ago - curiously coincidental with G-Chronus selling Duel Disks - the company fell into ruin, and the family with it. It took no time at all for the Deepwick family to shoot down the social ladder and land in the Obsidian District. Once there, things didn't start looking up. If common thugs and bandits knew there was a family as prestigious as the Deepwicks in their neighborhood, they'd want a slice of the action, right? One by one, the family was kidnapped, looted, and since Yu-Gi-Oh is dubbed by 4Kids, they were simply never mentioned again. Not that they probably died or anything. All but Alex. She had something her kin didn't; something they would have done well to have in the Obsidian District. Guts. If given demands, most Deepwicks would have tried desperately to meet them. Not Alex, who would much rather take the fight to the guy making demands and put him right back in his place. In the four years since downgrading to this shithole of a district, Alex has made the place about 6% safer, which is probably some sort of record. She still suspects the Deepwick family falling into ruin just as the Anima family started selling Duel Disks is no coincidence, and looks into the matter during her spare time. While she's also in it for the generous prize money, Alex's real reason for joining this tournament is the same as the reason she joins every other tournament hosted by Gero Anima. She wants answers. Is her gut right about her family's unfortunate downfall? Are the rumors around town true? From her standpoint, the affluent CEO of G-Chronus Timepieces is awfully suspicious, and Alex plans to find out just how suspicious he really is. Personality: Alice's personality is an AI script 20 years in the making, and is by far the most complex yet. The core idea of the script was to try and create a robot that felt legitimate emotions and learned like a real human, with a distinct personality of its own that would be left to seemingly limitless random number generators upon initial activation. Alice brought some interesting traits to the table when first activated. Her most notable characteristic aside from a chronic poker face is a deep and profound love for anything related to animals. Being near them, petting them, befriending them, and even watching them eat each other all bring a metaphorical smile to her face. She also has a very shameless attitude and will easily confess to anything she may be asked about. If she killed a man, she'll say so and not have a single care about it. Another of Alice's randomly-generated traits is a complete and utter lack of sympathy, which can turn people against her at the wrong time. In her own words, "You are in the Obsidian District for lack of money, right? Then go make some money if you want to leave instead of complaining. I hear DuelCorp is hiring; even you might fit the bill." For the most part, Alice is pretty calm in key with her poker face. However, as with any AI, there are still a few bugs and glitches. First and foremost, even though they're her all-time favorite animal, direct contact with a fish will burn out her "regulators" for a brief moment, severely intensifying whatever feelings she has at the time to the point of even breaking her poker face. There's also a known grammar-based glitch in her system where double negatives draw out the emotion opposite the one she would have otherwise experienced. While these and other yet-unknown errors still exist, Unit AI-1C3 has been noted as being fairly stable and curious about a great many things. Brief Bio: C:\DUELCORP\CORPORATE FILES\E-CRUZ\DUELBOT UNITS\AI-1C3 NOW LOADING... Unit AI-1C3 (Codename: Alice) serves two purposes as a DuelBot. Setting aside her initial purpose as an automated duelling partner for visitors to our Dueling Arcades, the company president demanded that we create an AI script that enables human learning and emotion. The project wasn't an easy one; we experienced 20 years of trial and error before finally getting it right with 1C3. She learns like a human, feels emotions like a human, and almost thinks like one too. There are still some kinks in the system, but this is to be expected with such an experimental script. To test how such an AI would react to differing environments, we've been moving her around Anima City quite a bit in the four months since activation. This one boasts a lack of sympathy, which gave her a fair few enemies in the Obsidian District, but she's fortunately come out of her stay there unharmed. More than anything, she seems compelled to learn everything about every item in her immediate surroundings, which I took note of as she began disassembling my home computer during a visit to my residence. She even put it back together and made it better! All signs point to her being extremely intelligent, but I suppose she herself is a computer in the end as well. Unit AI-1C3 has passed many unspoken tests DuelCorp has put out for her. She made a friend in the Emerald District, had verbal fights in Obsidian, and even endured a blind date we sent her on. However, even though we've more than tested her abilities as a "human" machine, we've yet to test her abilities as a DuelBot. Her script and deck - the final addition to her AI - were modelled after the second-place duelist in last year's G-Clock Open. As part of her final test, and because she herself requested it, we've registered Unit AI-1C3 in this year's G-Clock Open under the name she gave herself shortly after activation: Alice. If she can at least make it to the semifinals, preferably without being discovered as a DuelBot, the script will be finished and ready for mass production. Pending some minor patches, of course. - Ernesto Cruz, Lead DuelBot Programmer Deck Type: Ban-Psychic Key Card: Overmind Archfiend Known Cards: Esper Girl, Serene Psychic Witch, Soul Absorption Spirit Partner: Machines lack an actual spirit, so...
