WIP [b][u]The New Arcturus Republic[/u][/b] [img]http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q173/sigma830/Flag_zpsc20ea055.png~original[/img] [b][u]Brief History[/u][/b] The Jasar Sector was unlike the many fell. After the Imperium's fall, the symptoms of revolution were showing, the local government grew weak, attempt to put a halt to such a rebellion from happening. However, this sector was home to a small human/xeno group simply known as the Reformists, who sought to ease the rising tensions between the humans, and the local alien species inhabiting these parts. The Reformists were a lingering presence in the sector long before the Imperium fell. For many years they sought to influence the colonial government, and bring about reforms for the imperium, however their attempts were put to a halt. A hundred years before the fall, thousands of aliens started a wide spread riot, spearheaded by radical elements of the Reformists. The uprising failed, thousands left dead on the worlds of the Jasar Sector. The reformists were forced into hiding as they were deemed traitors by the state. Hundreds of years later, the reformists influence was steadily growing as many joined their ranks, no longer fearing retribution, and to the surprise of many, the Reformists had infiltrated almost all corners of the local government, already making their move. The Governor was quickly expelled, knowing full well spilling blood would do no good, and reluctantly welcomed the New Order. The dreams of many aliens and reformists had finally came to pass. In a bloodless coup, the the jasar sector was now rebranded the New Arcturus Republic. However, this dream of prosperity would quickly die soon as dark times laid ahead for the young nation. Fifteen years before the present time, the Republic fell under assault by rogue elements of the Duchy, the Noble Houses of the border systems viewing the Republic as renegades, vassal worlds that needed to be brought into the fold. The Duchy War begun as the feudal lords sent their personal armies to conquer the N.A.R. The war was brief, lasting for three years, but it was bloody, and brutal, the Ducal Lords sent all they could at the Republic, and while superior in training, holding their on for those three years, were on the brink as the Ducal forces outnumbered them vastly. It did not take long however, for the the Ruling Grand Duke to put a halt to the hostiles, forcing the renegade Nobles to recall back their forces. While the Republic was grateful for the intervention, this conflict however, hardened relations between the Republic and the Duchy. This conflict also sowed the seeds for the Republic's own undoing, as the last decade was a time of economic hardship, the war had put great strain on the Republic, millions in poverty, unemployment on the rise, and humanity had taken the worst of it. Humans from a walks of life begun o suspect favoritism from the Government regarding aliens, and this made many bitter in the current situation. Anti-Alien sentiment grew as more and more humans were rallied by the ever rebellious and increasingly influential Imperial Restoration Faction and NOOVP. Many had even attempted to undo centuries of liberation n the polls, which of course failed. Violence and unrest begun to spread all across the worlds of the Republic, many, although insignificant rebellions had sprung up, but were easily put down or left along for the time being. The situation worsened with the Nuclear bombing of Esmara City, leaving millions dead. It was then followed by the March on New Arcturus as NOOVP Militia forces had clashed with Republic forces in the Capital City of Novus Haven, and failed at their attempted coup. It did not end there, however, untold numbers of military personnel and bases had gone rouge, the worlds of Magnus Terra and Palatine had seceded from the N.A.R. Civil War was on the rise. Six years have passed since then, the Republic torn apart in a bloody civil war, left weak and broken.
