[indent][b]N9ne[/b] is a fantasy-based roleplay that incorporates elements from several genres. One of the earliest and strongest themes in the roleplay is the presence of the characters' future selves (as played by the Moderator) telling them of a post-apocalyptic future, although giving only vague details. As the roleplay begins in a state of relative normality (Earth, United States circa 1994) and immediately transitions to a large break from reality, all other transitions are made fast-paced to accommodate. Soon after, new-found abilities for the characters manifest as markings on their bodies and unique powers or abilities that soon gain the attention of the Hankō Council, which then acts as the protagonist faction. The new powers and associations that are 'otherworldly' will follow the patterns most anime do, merging in the Eastern elements of media into the roleplay while the rest of the break from reality is still setting in. The overall theme of the roleplay remains simple: high-fantasy.[/indent]

[b]Denkai[/b] is the energy found within the soul and all other metaphysical aspects of life. The science of Earth has even yet to uncover the mechanisms of Denkai, but it follows a similar pattern to the natural interactions of particles within the science most characters should have been taught in their high schools. It comes in two variants: Sei and Fu. Sei represents life and is the Denkai given off naturally by plants and living animals while Fu Denkai is the energy released upon death, bacteria, fungus and even demons within the world of N9ne. Regardless of what type of Denkai a person utilizes (not all of the high-potential candidates use Sei Denkai), they may use essentially any ability - with the same amount of training - as another. What each Denkai user, known as a Denizen, will have is a physical manifestation of their Denkai on their body that resembles a tattoo of some sort. This manifestation is two-fold in that not only does it exist physically, it exists metaphysically and allows the Denizen far greater and far more powerful control over a single ability or branch of abilities regarding Denkai. Some share manifestations, some are completely unique. Regardless of what kind of manifestation it is, it will be the power that the denizen becomes known for over time.

This roleplay will have most of itself revealed in-roleplay, so I do not intend on revealing a large amount in the OOC. I believe fully what I have given should be adequate enough to begin contemplating a character. I will have one as well. Any and all questions are welcome in PM. Introductions for this roleplay will also be incredibly simple: a normal Tuesday in high school, around 10:00 PM in third period. Simple enough. Bend whatever you like to start, I'll do the rest. Anyone interested in moderation spots will be warned that I require studious knowledge of this roleplay to be learned. Anyone who wants something 'slightly' different from the norm I have set may be considered, again just PM me. The rules are also simple. Give me three decent-quality paragraphs per post minimum. I'm not totally anal about this one, but I do expect decent standards here; it's what I asked for. Aside from that, be cool like the Fonz.
