Yes, we'll do the same here. As mentioned prior to DB loss, we'll be going with a young female Lieutenant who is in secret one of the Tok'ra. Military Name: Astridh Nic Shitric | Eydis Rank: Lieutenant | Senior Deep-cover agent Role: Tactical officer. Prefers to stay shipboard. Basic medical training | Infiltrator Unit: Tempest Crew | Tok’ra. Age: 25 (born January 6th, 1989, Ireland) | 1928 (spawned sometime in year 14 AD, unknown location) Gender: Female | asexual, prefers female hosts and considers self female, but will not get mad if referred to as male while in a male host. Sex: Yes, please. Appearance: Neither thin nor thick, Astridh is in remarkably good shape for someone her age. As she has been a Tok’ra host for the past six years, she looks considerably younger than her twenty-five years. For this reason, she has at times had trouble with soldiers ranked below her not believing her rank. Physical prowess (a good, formal thrashing) has convinced them otherwise. While her hair is pale golden blond and is typically tied back to be out of the way, her eyes are cold blue. She has the pale skin common to those of norse descent. She keeps her hair cut relatively short, but long enough to easily tie back. As clothes go, she either wears a functional uniform or a shipboard jumpsuit, both with appropriate insignia. Astridh is 158.3 cm tall. Reason chosen for Tempest: Skill. She has proven remarkably skilled for her age, both as a soldier and as an officer. Her loyalty to the royal navy has been found to be without flaw. There is nothing on earth that could cause her to betray it. Personality: As Tok’ra, Astridh/Eydis has a complex personality. There are traits common to them both, traits only one has, and even some things they do not agree upon. While Eydis could have forced Astridh here, it goes against every belief she holds. They are both very private and do not share much about themselves, preferring to keep quiet. While Eydis can be a bit social, Astridh has never been all that comfortable in disorderly crowds. Unlike most Tok’ra, they avoid, for obvious reasons, using the distinctive Symbiote voice trick. The three primary goals they both have are simple: - They seek to save the Tok’ra from extinction - They want Eydis’ presence to remain a secret. - They wish to do as good a job in the Royal Navy as they possibly can, so long as it does not interfere with the other two goals. While fairly uncomfortable with Social reaction, they share an ability to focus utterly on a job, even if it is noisy around them, be it tactical planning, passing orders on to troops, treating injuries or reading books. Astridh is inherently against cruelty to others, whereas Eydis will at times be open to using whatever force she deems necessary, much to Astridh’s chagrin. They are also very patient. They know that while it would be nice to complete the task quickly, sometimes patience is rewarding in itself. Naturally, like all Tok’ra, they both hate goa’uld, and are distrustful of any goa’uld that have gone over to the “good” side, demanding far more of them to prove their loyalty than most others will require. A few years of good behavior do not weight up for centuries of bad behavior. So far as politics go, Astridh could not care overmuch. Her family, when they were still alive, never had a habit of caring much about who had political authority over whom. As a member of the navy, she prefers clear-cut chains of command. As such, she is not overfond of civilian posturing or civilian oversight. Eydis on the other hand, is fairly good at politics. She's been infiltrating goa'uld power structure on many occasions, manipulating events there and elsewhere. She might've been on the Tok'ra high council a few times, but she is not there now, nor has she been recently. As such, when it comes to politics, Astridh prefers to stay in the background. --- Notes: Astridh regularly takes a naquadah suppressor injection to hide Eydis from detection by other symbiotes or former hosts. Nobody except the Tok'ra High Council knows she's Tok'ra. --- Short Biography:
Astridh, being of irish descent (with ancient norse roots), grew up in her family’s ancestral home in northern environs of Ireland, where ancient vikings once chose to settle. She has known well about her norse roots, but never really cared much about them. They were not all that relevant to her. Like most others in that region, she had a fairly normal childhood. Some, but not many friends, regular school. Unlike most others, neither she nor her family ever really cared all that much about religion. As such, they had stayed well out of the religious conflicts otherwise permeating their region. After completing her senior cycle of school, she enlisted in the navy. Of course, there were things that changed in her life between those last two events. It was during the summer of her nineteenth year that she encountered her first alien. Not that she knew he was one at first. Or that it would matter to her. You see, shortly before she finished her senior cycle, her parents both died in an accident. A plane crash, to be precise. When there were no others around who would comfort her, he appeared out of the evening mist. [stereotypical much, eh?] He wasn’t remarkable to look at, but it turned out he could listen. More importantly, it soon became clear he could understand. He too had faced sudden loss. At first, he would not explain exactly how, but she did not mind, for he was willing to listen. He provided much-needed comforting. As the weeks of summer went by, he slowly opened up. He told her stories of ancient wars throughout the stars, of mystical gateways to travel between worlds. His stories were similar to many she had read before and seen on TV, yet they were unique. They distracted her from her grief. It was only after the fifth week that he revealed the full truth. The fact that his stories weren’t merely made-up stories, but true events. When he revealed his spaceship. Astridh was, naturally, more than a little shocked, but she was also intrigued. Why shouldn’t she be? Though he turned out to be an alien, she still felt she knew him, especially after the stories he had told her, which she quickly realized had to be parts of his life story. Once the initial shock had passed, he revealed that he had come to earth, or to the Tau’ri, as he called humans, with the hope of saving his people, but he had a problem, his host and friend, was dying from something that could not be fixed. He had told his life story so that even if he could not find a solution, someone would know of it. He would not pass unforgotten. Over the next couple of weeks, she questioned him more about that. What it would mean to be a host. She wanted to know more. He was, with her former friends, few as they were, having moved out, her only friend left. She could not bear losing him as well. “Joining me could mean persecution from your leaders should they find out.” he told her. She had, from his tales, suspected the same, but she did not care. She would not allow him to die. She could not allow it. Thus, the following week, she told him of her decision, that she would be his next host. She knew there would be no turning back, but that did not matter to her. What would she turn back to? Living alone in the ancestral castle? Mourning her dead parents? Having no ideas about a career? The following evening, they decided to go through with it. “How?” she asked him. “Kiss me. Open-mouthed. I will do the rest.” he had answered. Feeling more than a bit awkward, she nonetheless did as instructed. Without warning, she felt something slippery shoot past her lips, then a sharp pain at the back of her throat. Then, she had blacked out. When she next woke, probably no more than a minute later, there had been another presence in her head. That is the only way she could have described it. Her friend sat beside her, his breathing labored. “Goodbye, my love.” he said. Seconds later, her voice sounding deep and hollow, and not doing so at her command, answered “Goodbye, my friend.” It shocked her to have her voice outside her control, but then she could feel her symbiote’s thoughts within her head. She, Astridh only realized now that her symbiote preferred to be called as such, told her name was ‘Eydis’. It had not been revealed before because it would only have been confusing. Before their very eyes, they saw their friend’s labored breathing get harder and harder, then stop completely. He was dead. For an hour, if not longer, they sat there, simply learning more about each other, exploring each other’s memories. Once they had a better idea of each other, they carried their deceased friend outside. Astridh marvelled at how easy it was to lift him, despite him being considerably taller and heavier than her. Inwardly, she could Feel Eydis smiling. Increased strength, she explained, was but one benefit. Astridh stacked firewood around the body, then Eydis took control and lit the pyre. It would take her a long time to get used to not always controlling her own body. Once autumn came, they chose to enlist in the Royal Navy. In order to complete Eydis’ task, Astridh knew she would have to stand out from the rest. It might take years, but she knew she had more years than she had ever thought possible ahead of her now. The americans already had a number of warships and there was an international agreement, so they both figured it would not be too many years before Great Britain demanded to get one. They would do everything in their power to ensure that when that time came, they would be assigned to it. As such, they committed fully to the task of becoming the best the Royal Navy could produce. Eydis’ nearly two thousand years of experience certainly helped there. For somewhat over two years, she went through navy ratings training and service. Due to skill, both inherent and aided by Eydis, she rose through the ranks there. Slowly, but deliberately. some three and a half month into her third year, she was offered the chance to go on to take Navy Officer training. A chance she almost jumped at, knowing it would lead closer to their goal. Never once did she deviate from both that goal and from the loyalty to the navy. Other than an empty castle in northern Ireland, she had nothing to distract her or divide her loyalties. Tok’ra policy when infiltrating was to be as loyal as possible to the society infiltrated while accomplishing goal, so that worked out well. Following officer training, Astridh specialized towards tactics, while also taking some training as a medic. With Eydis’ knowledge in her head, both of those were easy fields of study. For the next couple of years, she served with pride and skill eventually rising to the rank of lieutenant. This continued until sometime mid-autumn in her twenty-fourth year when she was approached and asked to join a “special unit” of the Navy, to receive unique training. This quickly turned out to be a cover for the Royal Navy’s acquisition of the latest class of starships, first of which bore the name Tempest. With this assignment, Astridh knew their mission was potentially approaching its final phase. Using a mix of medical training and Eydis’ own knowledge, they crafted a concealed injector for a naquadah dampener drug that would suppress the signs of their being Tok’ra from detection. All they could now hope for, would be to eventually gain access to Asgard Tech. The only evidence they carried with them of being more than human was the injector and Tok’ra ID, both of which were concealed well.

Eydis is one of the older Tok’ra, from one of the last birthings of Egeria. Like others of her ilk, she strongly believes in the act of sharing the body equally with her hosts. Where some might spend days to transfer, she often takes weeks or more, simply to get to know her future host better. Had she had any interest in it, being of the generation she is, she could now have been on the high council, but she does not, preferring to stick to the same type of roles she has held in the past, i.e. that of deep-cover infiltration, where she speaks with other Tok’ra on a highly irregular basis. When it comes to hosts, she has a preference for younger women who are smart, but have not reached their full potential. She will, if necessary, take male hosts, but she does not like those as much. As such, she is by most other Tok’ra considered “female” despite not being a true queen. She has a long chain of successful infiltrations behind her, both of Goa’uld hierarchies and of lesser societies. It has not been unusual for her to behave as if she is a “good goddess” when taking more visible infiltration roles (i.e. acting goa’uld). The result often had her subjects adoring and or loving her. However satisfactory it might have been to have such adoration, she never let it go to her head. Whenever she infiltrates a society, she does so at the express order of the High Council, for a task assigned by them. The task is always foremost in her head. This keeps any reaction from any people she might be forced to rule from overwhelming her as it does to so many Goa’uld. Mind you, not all her infiltrations were successful in completing her task. Sometimes the result of such long-term gambles was simply another host to associate with for a century or two. Ever since the Tok’ra queen, Egeria, died in 2002, Eydis has been working hard on finding a solution to their negative population growth. Technically she worked on it prior to that as well, but the work intensified afterwards. Her current plan involves gaining access to an asgard computer core, which she has heard rumors of the power contained within. She has hope that it might in fact be the solution to their problem. Though when she picked the host they had yet to gain access to such, Eydis knew that the Tau’ri had better relations with the Asgard. When they later killed themselves and left their legacy to the Tau’ri, her task only became more important. As long-lived as she is, she has no trouble starting an operation a decade or more before its fruition. Should her task actually meet with success, Eydis would sacrifice herself in a heartbeat.

Very little of this is IC knowledge for other characters. Other than what is in public/military records, of course. Eydis/astridh notes: Eidetic memory. Read things once – know it well. Tok'ra knowledge. She has, naturally, got access to all of this. She has taken some classes to explain away how she knows some of these subjects. A large portion of her knowledge is still unavailable, as she hasn't found a way to “study” those subjects. Fields of study she has unlocked: Genetics & medicine: Human body. She knows a lot about how it works, how to fix it, and how to break it. Perhaps even a little more than most humans know. retroviral engineering First aid (advanced, due to her intricate knowledge of human workings) Military: Ground tactics (some. Not a major focus. Too much of her knowledge is based on energy weapons to be able to explain in-depth knowledge) Naval tactics (adapted from tok'ra knowledge combined with RN training) Space tactics (tok'ra, with spatterings of Tau'ri. Excuse: gaming.) Sensor studies (not quite to asgard level, but SG-program level Tau'ri & some tok'ra) Beaming (she’s tried, but she and Eydis are still working on getting the knowledge “translated”. Astridh doesn’t have deep earth science knowledge to understand the not-too-good earthly explanation for how it works. Even though Eydis understand the science of ring platforms, those are ancient, whereas beaming is asgard. Think comparison of English and German. Unarmed combat - Due to her knowledge of the human body, she’s good at disabling others, or even killing them. Other knowledge: Politics - She’s fairly adept at such maneuvering. Tok’ra origins, but the essence of politics is much the same everywhere. Sci-fi - Astridh actually likes it. Eydis mocks its flaws while Astridh watches/reads. They find that ridiculously enjoyable. Some knowledge she can’t very well reveal: In-depth knowledge of galactic history. Eydis was there for much of the past two thousand years. She couldn’t not have picked up on it. Goa’uld/tok’ra engineering. She knows quite a lot about it. Some she can’t bury Naquadah-reliant tech - As a tok’ra she can use it. Not a good idea to reveal. She knows a lot about Ariadne. Probably more than Ariadne knows anyone knows. Confidential Tok’ra records. Flaws that can be abused: Lawyer-hidden medical records. She’s keeping almost too much secret. (Joseph is curious why.) Naquadah in blood. Hidden with Dampener. Not 100% certain. Probably won’t stand up against blood lab analysis. Symbiote - X-rays and such will not lie. Eydis cannot hide from them Dampener - She takes injections with this. Could feasibly be discovered/damaged. Knowledge - some of her knowledge is simply too deep to be human. She tries to keep it down, but nobody’s perfect. Memory - She might be listed as having eidetic memory now, but she did not have it during school. If someone digs deep enough, they will discover this. It is not something that can be normally gained. Wounds - She heals quickly. She can slow it down, but neither likes prolonging dysfunction. The medic in her doesn’t like leaving injuries longer than absolutely necessary. Strength - while its voluntary, she has access to superhuman strength. Sometimes she forgets she shouldn’t have that. Perfect health - she doesn’t get sick. No sick leave during her entire military service. She can survive adverse conditions far longer than a human could.
