The nearest thing in Rapunzel's reach was a frying pan. She grabbed it and held it up, fear and excitement swirling in her eyes. She knew it was stupid to feel excited, but this was the first time she had ever seen another person besides Mother Gothel. He must be a thief! What could he want from the tower that he couldn't find in the town? She looked around. She had her books, her chemistry set, her closet full of purple dresses. Purple was her favorite color. There was nothing a man like this guy could want. Or was there? Had he found out about her magic? Mother Gothel always said people would use and hurt her for the change to use her powers. She glared at the man and held up the frying pan even higher. "I-I know how to use it!" Another stupid thing to say. This man had a sword. Rapunzel swallowed heavily. She would not back down. This was her home. Her prison, but her home as well. Pascal jumped on her shoulder and started to jitter angrily at the man. From his tone, he must have a few choice words for the thief. "Please, j-just go. Forget you saw me. I'm not allowed to have anyone come in here. Mother would be so angry." She shook the frying pan in what she hoped was a menacing way.
