Elend Carrol Elend walked down the hall, mind flashing through the various possibilities of his current situation. None seamed plausible. What was he involved in? A geeky boy with red-rimmed glasses walked confidently into the entrance way, and then he realized that he was no longer alone. Elend's form seemed to collapse in on itself like a dying, geeky, messy-haired star. Suddenly slouching and staring at his feet, El started to panic. A room full of strangers; his worst fear. With one shaking hand, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a tack that he'd lifted off of a billboard he'd passed in the hall. El's fingers closed around the small red tack, driving the point into his palm. Elend meekly walked over to the closest male, a boy with red hair that was leaning against the wall. No amount of pain could mask his fear of the opposite sex. Somewhere in the back of his mind, El couldn't help but ponder for what reason someone would gather so many young people in one place. What was he involved in? Eyes still to the floor, Elend shakily spoke, "U-um h-hello, m-m-my n-name is E-e-e-el-land. I-it's nice to m-meet you." El held out his hand for a handshake, but his own hand seemed to be doing all the shaking already. His other hand slipped the tack back into his back pocket.
