Name: Joshua Tamashii Age: 19 Gender: Male Personality: Joshua is rough on the outside but a gentle and caring person on the inside. When you first meet him he will either ignore or insult you but given time you wil find a loyal friend who is willing to go the extra mile to help you. He can be very good on his feet and adapt to what's going on around him him, a trait that's helped him out of many a situation. During duels Joshua tends to remain focused on his opponent and does his best to keep a level head. If he sees his opponent is new to dueling he will often try to help them out but he won't pull his punches , since he sees that as disrespectful. He goes all out and tries to do his best while having fun. Joshua's biggest weakness is children. He can't turn a blind eye to one in trouble and he has gotten into more then one fight to help a child out. This weakness also puts him at risk with the law sometimes. Bio: Born in the Obsidian Distract, Joshua life has been one constant fight for survival. His parents were poor and they often had to go for days without eating a meal. Dissatisfied with this Joshua would often spend his days pickpocketing for other people, usually only taking enough to get him a small snack, which was a meal in his eyes at the time. He he grew older Joshua became more skilled but more reckless as well. His habit of pickpocketing made him alot of enemies, something that was never good in the Obsidian district and that came back to bite him. While out pickpocketing one day some of the people he had stolen money from set him up and got him arrested and sent to juvie for a few days. While there Joshua spotted many of the inmates playing Duel Monsters. He had seen the game before but had never really payed attnetion to it. However the game determined the order of power and Joshua realized he would need to learn the game fast if he didn't want to be on the bottom of the food chain. Luckily for him one of the guard there was from the Obsidian District and understood his situation. He took Joshua aside one day and taught the then 14 year old the rules of the game before handing the young boy his first deck. "Aim to be like the monsters you see here. Work with others and make something of yourself." the guard said before Joshua was taken back out to the other inmates. Joshua managed to get out of juvie without alot of fuss but, taking the guards words to heart, Since he got out he's worked to make an honest living and to support his family in more legal ways, usually by small Duel Monsters tournaments. He also works to make the Obsidian District a better place, especially for the children that live there. This has lead him to have several encounters with Alex Deepwick and he has helped her when their interest were similar. As of late Joshua's biggest challenge has been taking care of Amelia Averyonna, a girl originally from the Diamond District, stay out of her parents grasp, although this puts him at risk of being arrested again. Deck Type: Gem-Knight: An Earth-Attribute Archetype that focuses around Fusions and swarming. Many of the base monsters have good stats but the decks fusuins are powerful and adaptable, giving Joshua many options if he has the right cards. Key Card: Gem-Knight Fusion Known cards: Gem-Knight Obsidian, Gem-Knight Alexandrite Spirit Partner: Gem-Knight Obsidian is Joshua's spirit partner, something Joshua finds ironic since he's from the Obsidian district. A silent, stoic monster, Obsidian says little unless it is to advise Joshua or to tell Joshua he is not doing that Obsidian thinks is right. The two really have a mutual respect for each other but are known to fight very often. Name: Amelia Averyonna Age: 11 Gender: Female Personality. Amelia is a kind, polite, but very shy girl who has difficulty talking to others. Dispite being brought up in the Diamond District she doesn't view anyone as being lower then her, but instead sees them as as being better then her. She doesn't value money or material goods but rather she values the people she's around and feels like she could trust, even if there's only one person like that at the moment. During a duel it's obvious she's still learning the game and lacks confidence. dispite this she can still hold her own because she constantly practises, although it's unlikely she'll win. Bio: Amelia was born in the Diamond District to the wealthy Averyonna family, who could be seen as the city's money handlers due to them owning every bank i the city. From the moment she was born Amelia was expected to one day replace her father as head of the family and help run the city. As such most of her time, starting at the age of five, was taken up by lessons and studying. The por child had little time for herself, with her days being planned minute-by-minute. This left her miserable and often wishing for some means of escape for the cage she was trapped in. As fate would have it, Amelia would get that chance to escape at the age of ten. While on one of the very rare outings into the city, Amelia got seperated from her escort due to a large crowd near a duel in the Topaz District, right on the edge of the Obsidian District. Instead of trying to find her escort Amelia took this chance as an opportunity to escape and fled the seen. Sadly she ended up entering the Obsidian District. Being in the Obsidian District normal is bad enough. Being from the Diamond district was making one a magnet for trouble and it wasn't long before it out the young girl. Many of the locals were quick to spot the obvious rich girl and one of the gangs acted quickly, grabbing her and taking her away to randsom her back to her parents for some quick cash. However word of Amelia had also reached Joshua tamashii's ears. Being a resident of the Obsidian district, as well as a respected one, he quickly found out which gang took her and marched right to their base to confront the boss. He wasted no time making his demands and, almost inevitably, the two ended up dueling to determine the girl's fate. This was the first time Amelia saw a full game of Duel Monsters. She watched as the two duelist struggled but in the end Joshua won. Luckily for both of them the gang was one of the more honorable ones and kept their word, letting Joshua take the girl back home. As the two headed for the Diamond District Amelia begged and begged Joshua not to take her back. Resisting at first but giving in when the girl broke down into tears Joshua desided to take a risk and keep her at his place. To help keep her out of her parents grasp Joshua got the girl to cut her then long hair and buy some more comon, less expensive clothes, something Amelia knew would help since her parents were extremely vain and wouldn't dare think their daughter would wear anything other then the best. Since then Amelia has lived with Joshua and tended to accompany him everywhere. Over the past years she's also learned about dueling and has also managed to scrounge up a few cards to make a deck with Joshua's help. Hearing him entering a big tournament she's decided to take a risk and enter as wel, hoping to help the man who has helped her so much. A young boy who loves freedom as much as Amelia, Kamui is has the confidence and courage Amelia lacks. He is very supportive of his partner and encourages her to do things she would normally never do. For example, enter a big tournament.
