Loyal and determined, Dmitri rarely backs away and will always be ready to protect those that are dear to him. However, this selfless chivalry often leads him to trouble; as evidenced by his near death experience. Place of Origin: Russia History: Born during the prelude to World War II, Dmitri was sent to the military service at an early age. The young boy had a soft heart that was tested in the military. The beatings, the shouts, the harassment, and the torture that he had experienced would have shook any man's heart to irons; however, Dmitri's heart never hardened, and instead, it softened all the more. His greatest trial was during the battle of Stalingrad where he was assigned as one of the snipers in the heat of battle. The kind Dmitri couldn't bring himself to kill his enemies, but when he saw his allies die at the hands of the germans, he knew he had to fight back. Disregarding all forms of conscience, Dmitri picked off a german one by one until Stalingrad was won. However, his journey didn't stop there... The war went on and on as they finally reached their supposedly last stand. Dmitri did his job well as he accidentally picked off a young german soldier; a teenager apparently. The shocked Dmitri went down from his post as he dashed to the wounded boy's side. His bullet didn't hit home, but it did hit the boy's leg. Dmitri took the boy out of the heat of battle as he tended to the boy's wound. The war continued as Dmitri finally finished the necessary medical attention, and advised the boy to take off his uniform so he wouldn't be shot, and when the boy complied, the other russians found Dmitri. The russians accused the sniper of betrayal and began to shoot him indiscriminately. Dmitri covered the boy's escape as he fought back with a pistol, only aiming at his comrades' legs. As the boy escaped, Dmitri's body fell forward as he realized his torso was riddled with shrapnel. Dmitri knew he had incapacitated his comrades, and so, he stood up and walked on. Leaving a trail of blood, Dmitri marched forward... He didn't know how long he was walking, but he soon fell down. As his last anchor of life ebbed, he saw a silvery orb floating in the air. It was dark, but it was all Dmitri could see. Suddenly, a dazzling apparition appeared before him; stunning the dying soldier. "What do you wish to do, Dmitri?" "I've already done my part... I'm ready to go." "You are fond of protecting the things you love." "I am." "Would you like to protect something greater; something that the world must never know or it will be their end?" "The world?" "Yes." "Count me in." Dmitri shot right up. He didn't know how long he was out, but it was all barren. He didn't see a single soul in sight. However, he was somehow being pulled to a certain direction which he followed for years. This direction led him to a beautiful scenery; and Dmitri knew that with this scenery of silver and water, his fate of protecting something greater begins. Quote: "Being human does not mean knowing when to take a life... It's about knowing when not to take one."
