Toothless would be very upset if he knew of the dragoness' affection but Hiccup didn't understand what was wrong with it- except maybe the fact that she was also a girl. A light blush decorated his freckled face at the thought of the less dragon form of hes... it was actually exceptionally human aside from the mannerisms. Those were more dragon and that was what made it so very awkward- just thinking about it. He discarded the thought as they walked, enjoying the warmth of the sun regardless of the brisk temperature of the air. He was sure Aurora was enjoying it as well until she suddenly tensed. He had heard the flap of wings but figured it was one of the dragons from the village. "Whoa!" But then he was being uprooted, landing on her back and scrambling forward to grab around her neck at her sudden burst of speed. She was running, branches snapping against them as her muscles strained beneath him. "What is it? what's going on?!" He hissed in a rushed whisper with enough sense to know something was wrong and to keep his voice down just in case, there wasn't much that could spook a dragon though. Not one like this. Before he could make much sense of this they were forced to stop. He didn't recognize the dragons or their riders and that was enough to set off warning bells. He eased a step back as Aurora put herself in front of him. He saw the issue, the armed nature of these men and the threat of their dragons. There was nothing he could do but retreat if he hoped to be any help at all. So with reluctance he withdrew, turning and running through the woods. A task made harder by his bum leg but as fast it would allow he was pushing himself through the trees knowing he had to get to Toothless. Had to find Toothless if he had any hope of rescuing Aurora.
