Can I be a pokemon? (Just kidding)

A human girl. Someone who isn't a scientist. Is it possible she could be the daughter of one of the scientist? She and some others like her were maybe brought along to help gather plants and other mundane things, while the scientist were going do the more scientisty things. 

Do you plan to have it that the humans and aliens band together to fight against the pirates? And are the pirates aliens from a different planet as well, or another group of humans or what?
