I don't know, while there's certainly some dependence... well, obsession more like it, um, yandere seem too confident in their abilities to, say, solve problems and stuff like that for the object of their affection.

It's just that they kind of tend to go the route of murdering the source of the problems, and they are sometimes problems only in the yandere's mind.
