Silver remembered from his first encounter with Sonic and Tails at the space amusement park Eggman made, Tails made some device to keep in contact with them since they became friends during that time.

"I thought this thing wouldn't work from that far of a distance, guess that Tails kid wasn't joking," Silver said, seeing if he could get to that signal and use it to contact either Sonic or Tails.
