In spite of clearly disobeying Viral she was determined to come along and help fight. Dangerous or not she couldn't well in good conscience let him go alone, she'd never forgive herself if he ended up hurt. He took notice of her approach fair quickly, instantly trying to dissuade her in his own little way. Not that it was going to have any effect, her mind was made up. "I don't know what I'm getting into, and neither do you! But I do know we're both better off with someone as back up!" This wasn't up for debate, they were doing this together like it or not. Normally quite accommodating towards Viral this would be one of the few times she refused to bend for him. The comparison to the Saiyans drew a bit of amusement from her, as well a bit of anger. "Those damn Saiyans are our friends you know! And you've got pride too, so don't act like you're better than them!" Yumi sped up her run to try and catch up to Viral, determined to get there at the same time he did. "Instead of arguing how about we figure out what we're doing, how's that sound?" Viral and Yumi's well being was in their own hands now, there was no helping it at this point. It would be fair easy enough to call them off still, but knowing them they weren't going to be deterred once given a task. Takeshi rubbed at his temples to try and relieve some stress, closing his eyes and sighing softly. They're going to be fine, he told himself, nothing they can't handle. The discussion was taken away from the situation at hand with the mention of food, rather quickly exciting Shu as a result. While he wasn't overly thrilled at the idea of more fruit the older boy was more than happy to indulge his brother. If nothing else it gave them something to relieve a little stress. "Roots are the part of the plant that is underground Shu. They help feed the plant by sucking up water and nutrients," Takeshi explained, smiling a bit. That much he knew. "And spicy is... Well it's like hot food, but its not warm hot... You know, like fire is. It's... Er... Try some, you'll find out." The father alien was happy that the visitors accepted their offerings, feeling indebted for their trying to save his son. It was the very least that could be done after all, and truth be told they did have excess food. Looking over to his wife he gestured for her to grab some of their haul, keeping his child right at his side. Meanwhile she went over to the tall grass again, disappearing into the thickets for a moment before returning, dragging behind her a wheel-less cart with a modest pile of goodies stacked up inside. Setting it down between her family and the aliens she bowed her head politely, looking up with a pleased smile. "Eat, please. Good, yummy food. Take what like." Takeshi wasn't exactly enamored with the selection they had been given, but Shu was no doubt ecstatic. Plenty of varieties of fruits were piled up on one another, an assortment of small berries and even a few larger, apple sized fruits as well. In the mix he saw the roots the aliens had been talking about, a little off-put at how dirty they still were. Still, it did smell nice, and he hadn't had anything since breakfast about two hours ago so his stomach was asking for a snack. Shrugging off his trepidation he leaned down, snatching up one of the roots and turning it over in his hands carefully. After meticulously brushing a little dirt off he gave it a good sniffing, pleased to find it smelled a bit like ginger. Giving it as best a cleaning as he could then he broke off a bit of the root, again giving it a look over. Seeing nothing inherently wrong with the item he gave it a small nibble just to get an idea of the flavor. Amazingly it even tasted like ginger, candied ginger at that, sweet and spicy at the same time. Excited he broke off another piece, popping it into his mouth cheerfully. Then breaking off two more he offered a piece to both Shu and T'charrl to try, still chewing on his own. "It's good, want some?"
