Name: Andrew Thorne Gender: Male Age: 24 Scar/Tattoo: Taking over most of his back and following the lines of his ribs and spine, Andrew's scarring is wide and smooth. His tattoo - a collection of thick black lines - starts at the back of his neck and loops in the front, near his collarbones. Powers/Abilities: Teleportation, which is linked to his fairly limited ability to manipulate his own molecular structure. Breaking apart and reconstructing himself elsewhere sounds complex, but feels terrifyingly natural to Andrew. He isn't able to teleport large distances, but jumping just a few meters away from his current location is possible. He also needs to see the place where he's trying to use this particular power. While his ability may allow him to to manipulate him body into any element or shape he wishes, staying in said state requires much more concentration. Sadly, his current situation isn't really helping him concentrate, making a majority of his abilities useless. He also needs to be in contact with the element, or be familiar with the shape he wishes to take. Personality: Andrew is somewhat of a social chameleon, choosing to blend in instead of standing out. He tends to avoid difficult choices, generally doesn't give his own opinion on others problems and just plays things as safe as he can. Andrew is at him best when avoiding large responsibilities, purposefully acting dumber or weaker than he actually is, all the while making sure that he's worth keeping around. He generally considers his own comfort first, no matter what the circumstance is. This doesn't mean that the man is particularly unkind, or dismissive. It just means that he's a coward, no matter how he tries to deny it. If nothing else, his ability to do nothing but listen has made him a patient man in most circumstances, and acts much too understanding towards nearly everyone. He can get talkative too, sometimes leaning on pointless tangents to calm himself. Andrew doesn't handle dangerous or scary situations well, opting to run off as far away as he can instead of figuring out a long-lasting solution. If that doesn't work, he has been known to simply lock up, unable to truly protect himself. Bio: Andrew was adopted to a good, steady household at a very young age. For most of his like, Andrew had no interest in finding his biological parents, happy to stay away from whoever left him. His parents took care of him and he had plenty of friends, so he didn't complain. He lived this good middle-class life until the age of 13. Not a few days after his fathers birthday, things started to fall apart. It started with a sad reveal of his adopted mother having cancer that had spread too far for it to be treated. Andrew didn't take it all too well, shutting himself away from his family. His father did his best to cope with the situation as well as he could. It didn't work. Andrew avoided obstacles as they came to him, and after his mother died, he kept ignoring his fathers habit of staying out later and later than usual. When he got home, he was drunk and more often than not, angry about what had happened to his wife. His father might not have taken his anger out on Andrew, but the alcoholism soured their relationship. By the time he turned 18, he'd cut all connections to his father, moving away from his home town. His plan was to just take it easy. He got a lucky strike in getting an okay job without much of an education, and set off to find his biological family. He might not have much luck with his adopted family, but maybe there was more of a chance with his biological parents. It took many years, but by the time Andrew turned 24 he'd created an awkward but loving relationship with his mother. Everything seemed to go fine. At least Andrew had found himself a nice, safe routine to follow, with little to no bumps in the road. It wasn't exactly a flashy or a fancy way to live, but Andrew had never wanted that. Things like that would only complicate things. What he wanted was a steady, normal life with no surprises, because that was easy. Then he found himself waking up in an unfamiliar building with strange scars carved into his back. A part of him doesn't want to know what's going on, but an even larger parts just wants out. So that's what he's going to do. Other: Will add in if necessary --- My CS is done. Not my best work but I hope it's acceptable. Also, if I accidentally call the guy a "her" at some point, it's cause I ended up changing his gender half way through. Realized that with so many female chars already, I'd feel best if I balanced it out with a guy.
