I do understand your reason for worry, but please trust me when I say what I have this handled. Having one person play a half of the pair and having another play the second half, results in having different dynamics between each pair. If one half cannot continue for whatever reason, then there will be two options. Either that half can abandon their current partner for one that they control as well, or they can take control of the other half with the permission of that half.
