Raymond decided to look at the Daily Prophet as he took another bite of his toast. If he hadn't grown up with wizard parents, he would have been very confused and awestruck at this certain paper. Interesting stories and articles were displayed, as well as moving pictures, as they always are in the wizarding world. He flipped a page, and felt someone hug him from behind, landing a kiss on his cheek. He smiled, looking up at Samantha. "Morning." He said to her, listening to the people laughing at their table. He didn't really mind the comments. His year was starting off great, nothing could make him feel anything but happy. When she reached for his waffle, then walked off with it, he laughed. "I'll remember that, Sam!" He called out to her as she sat down with her friends. A little bit later Edgar, Trevor, Peter, and Grant all sat down, starting to make a mountain of food on their plate. "I've missed these meals so much... My mum can't even stick a turkey in the oven without burning the bloody thing..." Trevor said, inhaling a waffle. "Mail come yet, Ray?" Edgar asked, taking a bite out of a large, red strawberry. And with that a loud screech was heard, and in came the owls. All of them carried something, and dropped it on their intended target. Raymond got a couple letters. His parents sent him a letter, letting him know that they heard about him becoming Captain of the Dueling team, and how he kept his co-captain rank on the Quidditch team. They were so incredibly proud ("She cried when she received the letter from your Head of House, his dad wrote), and inside the letter was a very small fortune in his hand for his actions at school. Ray was beaming. "Ah, you can buy every type of candy at Hogsmeade!" Exclaimed Grant, looking at the handful of coins. Everyone in the hall was opening letters or gifts, all just happy to be back. Then their Heads of House came in to the Hall to hand out their schedules. "Mister Chase... Congratulations. Lets hope to win the Quidditch cup this year." Professor Weasley said with a smile as she strode off to hand out more Schedules. They almost had the cup last year, but lost during the semi-finals to Hufflepuff, who came in second against Ravenclaw. He could feel that this year was his. He spent three years trying to get Gryffindors to the top. He was one of the highest scorers in the school. "History of Magic... Potions... Charms, then Defense Against the Dark Arts... Not a bad first day schedule." Edgar said with a grin. Raymond nodded. The class he was really looking forward to was Defense Against the Dark Arts, and he was interested in how the newest teacher will teach. He got up with everyone, and looked up at the head table to see the Auror known as Markus Finch writing in a journal... He wondered if his father knew anything about the guy, if they had worked together in the past... If he had the chance, he'll ask him.. but right now, he had to go back to his dorm to get his books for today.
