Unless anyone brings up alternate ideas, here are the Palmydian Republic's relationships with other powers. Influence and relations: The Dominion: Friendly -Palmyong and the Dominion have a mutually amiable relationship. Aside from being the first nation Palmyong has formally made contact with, the natural friendliness exhibited by the Tarix-Na has promoted positive relations between the two states. While there is not much political gain in their alliance, Palmyong recognizes the Dominion’s legitimacy and happily imports Dominion goods, returning the favor with ehltaani crafts and cultural insight. It is very likely that anyone with ill-intent towards the Dominion will incur retribution from Palmyong. The Ralgon Empire: Friendly -Palmyong and the Empire are on good terms thanks to long-term trade between their peoples. The two powers enjoy established trade routes across the sea dividing them, and cooperate on a regular basis to enforce maritime law and stamp out piracy along these routes. Palmyong exports many cultural and artistic goods to the Empire. Crayvenhart: Neutral -Formal relations between Palmyong and Crayvenhart have not been established, although both are much aware of one another’s existence. Unofficial trade conducted by private parties is not unheard of, although Palmyong has not agreed to any arrangements with the Crayvens. Socially, Palmyong find their antics eccentric and slightly off-putting. Empire of Vyrndar: Neutral -There has been very little contact, if any, between Palmyong and Vyrndar. Scholars have studied enough about the Empire to gain a shallow insight to its political and social dynamics, but else not much is known. It has yet to be seen if the Empire will be a rival in contending the islands north of Palmyong. Isbis: Neutral -No contact has yet been made with this kingdom, due to its distance from Palmyong’s borders. If it was to encounter the inhabitants of the Glass Sea, it is thought that relations would prove to be good-natured and monetarily beneficial. Yukanian Alliance: -??? Xai Qian: Strained -Over the course of its history, Palmyong has fought a small number of wars with Xai Qian. These have primarily been concerned with gaining or keeping territory to the south of Palmyong. Although the most recent of these ended over two hundred years ago, relations have been complicated by the nature of history between the two powers. Some within Palmyong wish to make amends, while others are unwilling to trust their southern neighbor. Palmyong ‘s southern borders are highly vigilant should hostilities flare up, but as of late, things have been greatly stagnant. Devaldis-Spes: Neutral -Due to its location at the extreme south of the known world, no attempt has been made to establish contact with it. However, tales concerning its social dynamics have earned praise from Palmyongese scholars. Helcore: Unfriendly -The aggressive tendencies of the mountain-dwelling folk rub Palmyongese the wrong way. While Helcore and Palmyong are separated by a great deal of land, the mountains’ close proximity to the Dominion are cause for concern. Many Palmydians see the mountain folk as backwards or uncultured and little distinctions are made between the clans. A few within the military, however, pass around tales of their martial feats, which is some cause to respect them. Naqah: Friendly -Sea-based trade between Naqah and Palmyong has contributed to a cordial attitude to the southern nation. It is content to deal with Nagah, although the political landscape of the far south has yet to gain any real attention from Palmyong. The border of Nagah is the farthest southeast most Palmyongese are willing to travel, and the trade route is carefully patrolled considering Xai Qian’s proximity.
