If I may point out, the reason taller humans have problems is because they aren't designed to be taller. My species, on the other hand, is supposed to be that tall. If they were the size of humans, they would suffer the same sort of problems that midgets do. Likewise, halflings are supposed to be smaller than humans, thus they don't suffer the problems that midgets do, but would suffer the problems of tall humans if they were proportionally taller. The Lorenvolk are built to be big, their hearts are designed to pump blood 14 feet, their muscles have a differing density level, their bones are structured differently than humans to allow for them to support themselves. Also this was described as magic free fantasy, so in that sense it makes little sense to be attacking a person for having a race that is composed of what amounts to really very small giants considering the prevalence of giants in fantasy settings that are much larger than the Lorenvolk. They may look similar to humans scaled up but that is because I wished for them to do so, they really aren't the same as a scaled up human such is just an easy way to picture them.
