A cord connected to the back of Penny's neck fed her energy, charging her for the upcoming day. The scientists referred to this as "sleeping" to make Penny feel more human than anything. They flipped a switch on the generator that had been feeding her since last night, it turned off and the tube immediately disconnected from Penny. She automatically turned on, her dull eyes brightened. "Good morning Penny, how do you feel?" They asked her. "I feel combat ready." She would reply in the same enthusiastic tone every single morning she "woke". "That's good," A female scientist patted her head, running her fingers through Penny's synthetic hair, "Are you ready to start the day?" "Yes." --- Penny stood a top a large skyscraper, a small smile danced across her silicone face. "Thar she blows!" She pointed at the small red figure; her objective. The scientists had given her strict orders to take her down, but why would she do such a thing? She wanted to make friends! Penny jumped off the building to get to a lower level and see the creature more clearly. "Please wait!" She yelled, her voice magnifying in sound.
