It was too easy for Piper Irving to disrupt the faithful friendship between Parker and Hannah. When Hannah, a sweet blonde who was dedicated to Parker, came to Piper and explained her adulterous feelings for Parker’s beau, Piper jumped on the idea. Of course, to anyone, she was the quintessence of understanding and leant her ear like the good friend she was, but she had been plotting a dramatic scheme the moment she heard. Getting away with it was simple – convincing Hannah to get Amber’s advice was painless enough. Amber was the best friend of many and she had surreptitiously spread the rumors to them until, after a whole day of waiting, Parker had finally gotten the news. That was how Piper found herself in the girls’ bathroom, offering a tissue to the pitifully crying Parker who had lingering thoughts of her absent boyfriend being less than faithful. “Shh, it’s okay Parker. I’m sure Hannah wasn’t going to act on the feelings.” The brunette cooed and another sob echoed in the restroom. The Irving girl could not stop herself from rolling her eyes at the pathetic reaction when she had hoped the strong-willed Parker would beat someone up. “D-Do you really think so?” The other stuttered, mascara and eyeliner running down her face. Piper kneeled in front of the sitting girl and took her hands, staring at her earnestly. “Parker, you know I’m your friend and I am here to soothe your doubts, but I’m also here to tell you the truth.” Her wide doe eyes widened even further, innocence radiating from the rare serious visage. “I-I mean, I don’t want to believe they would do anything, but Hannah…has been busy lately. And, well, so has Daniel…I know it’s not what you want to hear right now, but the evidence is adding up.” “I-I was afraid of that!” Parker began to cry again and Piper wanted to snarl in exasperation. “What am I going to do?” Harrumphing loudly, Piper stood straight. “You know what you are going to do? You are going to march up to Hannah and tell her exactly who owns Daniel. He is yours and no matter how close Hannah and you are, she should not have passed that line!” Newly determined, Parker stood up and Piper could see the anger boiling in her eyes, “You’re right! I’m going right up to that bi-.” The door swung open and a girl walked in, she looked familiar and it took a moment for Piper to remember her name. “Um, Sabrina right? You do the morning announcements?” Sabrina nodded and motioned for her to follow. It was revealed that the principal had ordered them – them being everyone on the handy dandy list – to go to the auditorium. She had quickly apologized to Parker and left, hoping a good hit would be thrown whilst she was gone. Once they were all gathered, Sabrina began to lead them to the auditorium – as if they didn’t know where it was. In the auditorium, a congregation of scientists in pristine white coats and black slacks stood with hands clasped in front of them. The head scientist or at least that is what Piper assumed, stepped forward and began a probably long, boring speech about something or another. "Welcome ladies and gentleman, thanks for showing up here today. We are producing this new project called The Changed and you guys are our handpicked selects for this project." Piper furrowed her brows in confusion – handpicked, for what? When they offered no explanation about the program, Piper began to get suspicious. It would be bad if the principal were to hand them off to a couple of conmen, that’s for sure. Despite the small weird joke, the CEO’s daughter just shrugged off her paranoia and began to zone out until they spoke again. "We have already contacted your parents and they are in the office waiting on you guys to say goodbye. More will be explained later. Alright? See you guys then." Sighing, Piper dragged her feet out of the auditorium behind the fervent Sabrina. Her eyes had been trained on the phone in her hand so that must have been why she didn’t see them coming. Someone grabbed her from the back, grasping her arms tightly and she kicked and flailed and cursed and shouted, but in the end nothing worked and she was thrown into the back of the van. Her head roughly hit the wall and she rubbed it anxiously. Her heart beat fast in her chest and adrenaline pumped through her veins. “Am I the only one that is confused about what is going on?” Sabrina – stupidly, in Piper’s opinion – asked. “Are you kidding? We’re getting kidnapped! Kidnapped!” Piper wanted to cry and scoff at the same time. Instead, she focused on the directions they were going in, counting the turns and the minutes between each turn. However, soon it got muddled and confused and she couldn’t keep count. Finally they were taken out of the van and lead into a cafeteria. The food they served was ignored by her in favor of scrutinizing the place in hopes she would recognize something.
