I see the Strike as more of a jack of all trades, really, so if I do go with it I won't be making it dominate every combat situation (especially since my character is not our Lord and Saviour). XD Aside from the versatility (which is always good, since it would give me a few options to play with), the main reason I'm considering it is because it's been years since I last saw SEED and it's the one I remember most due to being the protag's MS. ^^;

...I do like the idea of starting with a mook suit before upgrading to something more substantial, though... I'll figure out what I'm doing for sure tomorrow, since it's 04:11 right now and that's not exactly the best time to come to decisions. ^^;
