The Moriscos were quick to start the colonization proscess. Simple temporary shelters were erected as the men took to cutting down trees and catching food. Alvaro stood by a shore not too far away from the fledging colony. He stood there with his daughter, who wanted to see just how it was that she could find food of her own among the fish of this new land. Many a prayer to Allah had been said upon the steady growth they were getting this day. Alvaro showed her a few fishing techniques, catching a few in the proscess, and then let her try it as well, a simple enough task for a child. In the midst of their fishing however, Alvaro could hear talking not too far away, but in languges familiar to him. English....what were English speakers doing in Cuba? This was troubling. Alvaro instructed his young daughter to go back to the colony and find her mother, and that he would return soon. Alvaro then began to move over to where he heard the dialogue.
