Today was that day again. Every year a girl from the city would be chosen as sacrifice to the dragon that lived on the mountain near the village. This way they would keep the dragon from destroying the village. This had gone on for honderds of years. It would all come with a great festival, the dragon festival. Every girl would be taken to the main plaza. One for one they would have to take a shell out of a earthen pot. On one of the shells was a dragon painted... That girl would be the next sacrifice. The girls never panicked about this. They all saw this as a great honor. They would have protected the whole city for a year by giving their life. But this year was different. Arya was a 19 year old girl, since she was very young she detested dragons. Her dad was killed by one. Every year she hoped she wouldn't be the one... Last year she was again very lucky, her best friend was picked.. but this year she wasn't so lucky... Arya bited at the ropes around her hands and tugged with al her might at the metal ring that was placed on the wall. The townspeople had to bind her to the ring or else she would have escaped. Most girls would just have walked right into the dragon's nest like that. Something her friend did too. Her toughts of her friend got errupted by a large roar. Arya jumped and started to shiver she knew what was comming. In the distance she saw the dragon flying towards her. Carried by big black wings... With a large crash, the dragon landed in front of her. She closed her eyes, thinking this could not be real. She heard the dragon laugh or at least make a sound that looked like it. "You're afraid of me?" He laughed mockingly. Arya slowly opend one eye. The dragon's head was only inches away from hers. He sniffed at her causing her to shiver again. He laughed. "This is going to be fun. Finally! After al those years I get one who is scared." He smirked. He opened his mouth displaying his sharp large teeth. "Much better than the last one. Yeah that one was really a crazy bitch. Going on and on about how it was her duty to serve her people by serving as food." Arya noticed he must be talking about her best friend Celeste. "Shut up.." She managed to bring out. "Oh?" The dragon drawed near to her face. "IT can speak?" He grinned. Arya looked away scared. "My mother taught me never to play with my food but I guess I can make an acception?" Arya's eyes widden. The dragon bited the rope in half and trowed Arya in the air. Catching her again on the piece of rope around her hands and tossing her again. Laughing as he did so. When will this nightmare end! Arya thought as she endured the pain...
