This is the tale of a group of losers climbing the ranks of a super popular space combat game. This is set in a futuristic Earth where virtual reality has become completely lifelike and you play the game by getting into a cockpit looking device. It's super expensive to own but can be rented at an arcade for however long you pay for. You keep a card that has all your save data.

The story begins with a hapless high school student starting a brand new clan in the game, using the starting money on a command ship that's known as the "noobfodder" due to it believed to be the worst available command ship that only noobs who don't know any better choose. In this game all purchases are final and buying a new command ship takes a massive amount of in game currency, so that's out of the question. Understandably, nobody wants to join his clan and his friend list is empty. However, that is about to change. It depends on how your characters behave, but for one reason or another they decide to join his clan, probably after seeing him at the arcade. Maybe they're classmates but I won't force you to be. For character interaction purposes outside of the game they shouldn't be some random person from far away unless they end up moving out to be with us, which would be odd unless it's after some dramatic event.

After we join together from that point we will bond as we work together trying to make it into the big leagues and possibly even win a tournament. Due to this being a realistic tone it will not be us just kicking butt all the time, but instead we'll be experiencing failures and difficulties that must be overcome both in game and out. A primary antagonist will be a rich and powerful clan who can afford a huge armada and crushes practically anyone with ease, noob or otherwise. Can we make them eat their just deserts? 

So that's the gist of the roleplay. You can fly a fighter or be in the command ship as the driver or a gunner. That means we'd need at least three people, but we'd probably want around 2 to 4 fighters (one of which a bomber) and 1 to 2 gunners. Our clan wont get much bigger then that (we'll turn down anyone who wants to joins after we get famous just to be with a famous clan), but we might ally ourselves with some much larger NPC clans.
