The vampire SOLDIER agent recoiled from the shining crucifix, his long black hair settling against his back some distance from the girl. Did Mithias still possess such a weakness? Was he faking, or was it a reverence for the cross that drove him away? What they didn't know was that it was regret that ailed him. Regret... for failing to kill Gabriel when he was human, and shame for having to live as a vampire ever since. Mithias bowed his head slightly, dropping his point from Magnus as Lightning tried to dissuade SOLDIER from coming here to investigate. She must have forgotten about the jet's blackbox homing beacon. "They will still come." He repeated. The blonde girl looked so desperate, near to tears. Mithias pitied her, but said nothing in regard to it. Surely the threat Magnus held against her was steep. The elder vampire however, wasn't taking his bait. Instead, Magnus asked about Mithias' weapons. Mithias furrowed his brow ever so slightly as he worried that Magnus knew something he didn't. What else could explain why he was delaying so? He narrowed his eyes intently. It was time to make this old vampire move. "You heard the ring of my blade. You know well enough what it is made out of. If not, then you will hear it again when I use it to break your claws!" Then Mithias attacked again, slashing and striking several times, swift and calculated, forcing Magnus to respond, and driving him back. The power he had taken from other vampires over the years added to his abilities, giving him an unexpected edge and ferocity. Hopefully, he could move their battle farther away from the girl with the broken gun if he couldn't kill Magnus outright.
