Thaum: The Azure Sea She stared at it and it stared back. All conversation around her had been tuned out the moment she had spotted the sad looking pink blob of a creature, and for a good while now she had been locked in a staring contest with it. Aria wasn’t too worried about missing the details of the mission, Xan was sure to be paying attention and she was sure the metallurgist would be happy to repeat what the scientist man was saying. She scooted closer to the tank, eyes narrowed. By the gods this was one miserable looking fish. Was it even a fish? Fish didn’t have noses, did they? Was it edible? Would people want to eat it if it was edible? How would it even be cooked? Imagine if it actually had rows of pointy teeth. Ooh, imagine if she put a top hat on it. Or a nice wig. Maybe it’ll smile if it was dressed up nicely? That wasn’t such a bad idea. Nobody could be miserable in a top hat. “Hey, hey, feather sis,” Aria was cut from her musings and turned to blink at Don. Did he need something? “Which one do you think I should pick? This one, or that one?” Her eyes widened at seeing the bro’s hand inside the tank of lobsters, a few of which were already starting to reach for his finger with their pincers. “Don please take your hand out of that tank before you lose a finger-“ One of the lobsters jumped up to snatch at the appendage, only to be knocked out of the way by another lobster and the two fell grappling to the sandy floor of the tank as the rest scattered, not wanting to get caught up in the fight. She gave a sigh of relief as Don removed his luckily unscathed hand from the tank. “I’m not too well versed in lobster, but if you’re going to choose I’d say choose a large one? Keep your hands out of the tank though, they can be pretty vicious with their pincers. It’s hard to play guitar missing a finger or two.” She grinned at him, before noticing the buffet carts. “Excuse me-“ Balancing a plate piled full of food she plopped down on the seat next to Xan, nudging her friend and mumbling through a mouthful of grilled octopus. Mmm. “So, uh, what were you guys talking about? I was… kinda otherwise preoccupied.” She gave a sheepish laugh.
