Took close to a week but here it is. Much like Akira Toriyama straight up used food names to name his characters, my character's name is the mandarin words for "liquor" and "mature" stringed together. Former name (Jiu Fubai) is literally "liquor" and "spoiled". Spirit of the work and all that jazz. Name: Jiu Chengshu Age: 42 Race: Human Gender: Male Appearance: A middle aged, rugged and scruffy man with a clean-shaven head and face, eyebrows notwithstanding. Not overly large or tall, standing at 5 feet 9 inches and weighing in at around 170 pounds, his body however is weathered and hard as a rock, packed with muscle without adding unnecessary mass. Because of his constant travels through wilderness and lack of funds, he is often quite dirty. Clothing: Chengshu's usual attire consists of a simple long-sleeved tangzhuang jacket colored entirely in white with matching pants, no belt and no shoes, though he does carry around a large cloak to protect himself from the elements. All of Chengshu's clothes are often dirty and disheveled because of his nonstop travels. The only noticeable detail to his attire is a circular patch sewn on his jacket, right over his heart, with the chinese characters for Regret in black. Weapons: His body, hardened to superhuman levels through grueling, non-stop training that has the potential to drive people insane from the pain. Fighting style: Chengshu's style has been called the Gentle River Fist and works by prioritizing speed, fluidity and economy of motion in order to blend with and control an attacker's force to the user's benefit, placing the opponent in a disadvantageous position and leaving them open towards a counterattack. Chengshu, however, places great importance in subduing opponents while causing the least amount of harm to them as possible and so he usually foregoes crushing strikes or devastating throws for gentler pressure point attacks and submission holds which can be more safely applied. This does not mean he can not employ brute force, simply that he chooses not to. Personality: Peaceful, well-meaning, softspoken and respectul, Jiu Chengshu's current personality is the result of the great grief for his past deeds that he carries within him. He is willing to go to great lengths to help anyone and everyone he possibly can in his travels, all for the sake of atonement. History: Chengshu was once Jiu Fubai, master of the Crushing Torrent Fist and assasin for hire, employed by the underworld to deliver a swift and horrific death to select targets, often hiding in places where no firearms could be snuck in. Twelve years ago, however, the man dissapeared without a trace and all attempts to find or contact him in any way met with failure. The truth is that Fubai was tasked with killing the abbot of a temple who had previously offended Fubai's employer. Though Fubai injured many a monk, he was eventually subdued by the abbot and fully expected to die either by his hand or by the injuries he had already sustained. Instead, he was nurtured back to health, given good food and sent on his merry way. Kindness to a man whose entire life had revolved around violence. Fubai begged to stay and spent the next ten years at the temple, learning to better himself as a person and reworking his martial arts almost from the ground up, sealing away his murderous fist. Eventually, word of the Dragon Balls reached the temple and so Jiu Fubai departed in a quest to acquire the mythical artifacts, seeking to right the wrongs he had committed. Before he left, the abbot had one final gift for him: he was no longer Jiu Fubai, murderer, but had been given a new start as Jiu Chengshu.
