"Cursed me? Haha no... Jack... um... I actually lost track of him..." She grabbed a book of the shelf and buried her nose in it. It was called The nearest star She didn't like lying to her friends. She only didn't want them to know about her condition.. Her brows knit together as she realized what she was reading. It was a book book written by a muggle scientist. "Why does the Professor have this?" She wondered. Was he muggle born? She had noticed his muggle electronics on more than one occasion. Suffice to say, she was genuine and sufficiently distracted to forget the guilt of the lie entirely. She put down the book (but kept the page with her thumb) and listened to Richard's story. Something to make innocent innocuous theories over, and maybe learn some magic in the first place. River wondered if they were stepping out of their bounds, out of saftey, and into something over the top. Would they find some new evidence? Something that the Aurors did not know? Yet, now that she thought of it, it was never really a game... real people were still missing. "I just... It might be dangerous... do you think the Aurors have interviewed him yet?"
