Henry was sitting at another campfire with a hot stew in his hands, prepared by one of the servants who had come with the retreating nobles, when Elizabeth MacArthur approached him with Gwen in tail. Noticing the bundle in the woman's hand he raised an eyebrow. "Lady MacArthur, I see you have been investigating our foes' equipment. I managed to get one of them to fire earlier but I don't quite understand its workings; I'm sure you've already discovered a lot more than I." He nodded to Gwen but looked down, remembering the fit he had been wracked with earlier; he feared that she had seen his weakness and greatest embarrassment. Henry changed the subject by motioning towards the servants hurrying to and fro around the campfire with steaming bowls and plates of hot food. "You must both be hungry, it's been some time since we've been able to sit down and enjoy a meal. We'll have warning if the enemy approaches so sit and eat, relax. We all need to unwind a little." Here he glanced pointedly at Gwen, making her aware that he had noticed the bags forming under her eyes and the heaviness of her gait. "Who knows how long it'll be before we're on the run again?"
