Mithias was surprised to hear Magnus' voice outside the cave. He thought he had been left buried behind this rock to wait alone for some indeterminate time, if not forever. Instead, Magnus was... guarding him? His brow furrowed slightly as he put a hand against the rock, leaning against it lightly to listen. Mithias kept silent as Magnus covered SOLDIER, heart removal, and the dangers of drinking from vampires. It was almost a parental lecture. How strange a concept that the savage and brutal renegade, Magnus, could show sincere concern for him. It was completely unexpected. It was almost... touching. Mithias sighed heavily at the mention of blood. The thirst was upon him like a dull ache. There was no satisfying it behind his boulder. He closed his eyes and pressed both hands against the stone, longing to be free, wanting to reach through it, but he didn't try to move it, yet. "Magnus." He spoke softly, knowing he could be heard. "We cannot allow all vampires to be destroyed." On that, at least, they agreed. "I will fight against SOLDIER, if that has become their true intent." Mithias rested a moment. He sounded tired. "Every time we lose an elder, our species weakens. It was never my wish to kill you, only to maintain balance. The mercy you have shown me, speaks volumes to your sincerity. I will consider your words and investigate, but I need you to cease your slaughter of innocents." He continued, "I cannot swear my allegiance to you, for it belongs to another, to whom it is long overdue..." Mithias pressed his forehead against the stone, reaching out with his mind to search for any other vampires nearby. He sensed nothing. "I will keep my heart within me, but I will heed your warning about drinking vampire blood." Damnit. Now he was thirsty again. "Don't let yourself get cornered, Magnus."
