For a moment martin felt all thoughts, emotions and memories drain away from him. He felt alone and empty in an endless thick sea of nothing. Above him, far away he saw a light, he didn't know how, but he knew that was his humanity. A last chance to end it all here, and wake up. He felt a calling, he felt Gabriel's eyes pierce trough the veil of nothing and call out to him. But it wasn't up, it was further down. Martin didn't hesitate, this is what he wanted, this clarity was all he desired. He let himself sink deeper. He took his last mortal breath. All his senses stopped their flow of input. But he knew them nonetheless. His sight was gone, but he could see clearly. More clear than ever. Martin understood now, he wasn't insane, he could see more of reality than he should have. His mortal mind couldn't comprehend. But now... The mark tethered him to reality, to his new father, to his first night: truly alive. A hoarse whisper came out of his mouth as he spoke the first coherent thoughts that came to mind. “The most merciful thing in the world... is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.” Martin knew of every tree around him, felt the presence of every creature that lurked in their safety, understood the fear in their simple little minds better than they ever could. With his first vampiric breath he felt the wind around him shift, as if the world breathed with him. The long awaited feeling of relief flowed trough him. Along with gratitude. "Thank you,Sire... What happens now?"
