On one side of the convoy, a Decepticon ran over a fresh trail of ice. The soldier was puzzled, as the temperature had an unexpected drop in that one area, it was unnatural. However, he didn't have time to investigate, and logged in the atmospheric anomaly to those nearby, warning them to be on guard.

The Autobots: Jazz, Cliffjumper, and Sideswipe were about to return to base when they spotted the first Decepticon dropship. "Bogies inbound, Prime, looks like the Cons finally decided to make their move!" Jazz said through the Communicator. Perceptor answered, "Understood, I'll relay that to the rest of the Autobots" he said, then turned to a fellow Autbot, "you heard Jazz, send the warning" he said. The Autobot spoke through a microphone that connected to every communicator on every Autobot there, "Okay, Jazz and his team has spotted a Decepticon dropship, attack is imminent, repeat attack is imm-" he was interrupted by a jamming signal.

As Soundwave, Megatron, and the Combaticons approached the Ark, the Decepticon communications officer sent out a jamming signal to attempt to disrupt the Autobot communications. He knew it would only be a matter of time before they found a way around it, however it gave them the gap they needed. The ship made it almost to the Ark without being detected, however it was soon spotted, and a Marauder shot it out of the air. It crashed down, and plowed through the ground, stopping short of the Arks hull by a few feet. A group of about 20 Autobots approached the crash site, but about half were gunned down as they got near. The Combaticons jumped out from the burning wreck, followed by Soundwave and Megatron. "You know the plan, move out!" Megatron shouted, and his team scattered. Soundwave was headed towards the gun deck, while the Combaticons and Megatron would create a distraction here.
