Elemmíre blinked rapidly with surprise as he gazed at her first in admiration and then his face fell into line lines of sadness and his whole aura was grey with tiredness. He walked quickly away from her and disappeared down a corridor of this ship before she could call him back, she didn’t even know his name. Standing there alone in this strange place Elemmíre felt cold and small in this strange place so unlike anywhere she had ever known. She wished she had something else to wear; it was too exposed and made her feel too venerable in this horrible outfit. Not knowing what to do with herself she stood dejected, her starlight silver hair tumbling over hunched shoulders. Then a noise started her out of her misery, it was a clanking, whirring sound, the very same one she had heard when they had started to move and suddenly the metal beneath her feet became warm. Looking quizzically down she tilted her head, it was very pleasant warmth were her bare feet had been cold. Suddenly the cabin became dark save for a few lights that seemed to pulsate and taking a step forward Elemmíre found there was a trail or path of warmth beneath her feet. And she understood, this ship was sentient, she was sure of that, and it seemed to be guiding her, wanting her to follow its path. Curious Elemmíre followed the light and warmth at her feet, walking down many strange corridors filled with many doors. While she longed to look in them Elemmíre was sure this would not be allowed so she followed her guide. With a gasp Elemmíre found she had been lead to a brightly lit room that was the size of a house and filled from floor to ceiling with clothes. There were clothes from every period of most of the dominant species in the galaxy. For a moment it was all she could do to stand in the entrance her mouth hanging wide in wonder as she felt the engine give an almost purring noise, as if in approval of her reaction. Taking a few tentative steps inside Elemmíre was soon browsing amongst the rows and rows of clothes. Quickly spotting the more colourful and flamboyant female clothes she ran her fingers over the fabrics. It took a while to find an outfit she liked and to find everything she would need to complete it, finding undergarments, white knee socks she pulled the dress over her head and looked at herself in the mirror. The dress was medium length ending half way down her thigh, it was a soft lilac with a pattern of sky blue flowers, and the skirt was held out with a layer of petticoats and trimmed with white lace. It had a bodice in the same fabric and off shoulder short sleeves. She loved the dress it made her feel pretty, a feeling she didn’t think she would have again. It also helped soften the strangeness of her hair and skin, giving her whole appearance an innocent look that didn’t invite questions. Powder blue wedges completed the look and made her feel normal; they felt similar to her hooves. Smiling at herself in the mirror Elemmíre twirled a few times and nodded at her reflection, happy with the look that wasn’t herself but one she was pleased with. However she was finding it hard to keep her eyes open now, it had been an extremely long day and transforming herself was no mean feat. Turning back out the door she was happy to see that once again she was being guided by the lights. Walking in a daze till she was lead to a room with a large bed that was covered midnight blue satin sheets and to Elemmíre it was the most beautiful sight. Kicking off the shoes was the only thing she was able to do, before falling into the bed and snuggling up against the soft pillows. She was vaguely aware of the room dimming to a comforting twilight before her eyes closed and she slipped gently into sleep.
