Thufir enjoyed walking around London. It was certainly better now than he could ever remember. The first time he had visited London, the White Tower was a little over halfway completed. What a difference a thousand years made. He knew that people were uncomfortable being near him, and he knew it was because his darker skin tone. If he had learned anything through his travels, it was the natural anxiety that someone with different skin invoked in other people. People were just starting to accept that racism wasn't okay. Lord help them if it was ever discovered that immortals walked among them. Lately, he felt that it was nearing time for him to slip out of London again for a few hundred years. Maybe he would go back to Greece. He had always enjoyed Greece. In his younger days, he had marched with Xerxes against the Greek city states, as the popular term for them was now, but the country was beautiful. He barely recognized the place now, but the weather was pleasant, and most people were content to leave him be. London was getting a bit crowded for him, but every city was. He was planning on touring the London Tower again. He must have taken the guided tour a few thousand times, but he always enjoyed seeing how radically different it was now. It was curious to see a building one thousand years later in a body that hadn't aged a day since he first laid eyes upon it.
