Unless I consciously give them a set personality to base their decisions and reactions off of, I tend to just make my characters do what I would do in certain situations and project my own beliefs on them and such which leads to everything becoming very inconsistent.

I definitely think it's good to take a step back and have at least a base idea of their personality and motives in hand before starting, otherwise it's too easy to just mold them around the situation they're in. 

Anyway, assuming we're both accepted, Carrot, do you think it'd be reasonable for my character to have been assigned to Lilac squad? It'd be an excuse to get some interaction happening early on. But if you don't, that's kewl, Bo could just as easily be off on her own looking for the Dragonballs.
