And Iria didn't need permission, the Harpies did since they reside in the Underworld firstly and fore mostly (at least in original Greek lore). Harpies are sort of like servant to Hades, like how Iris was servant to Hera. They are Iria's aunts, and since she's really bad at defending herself they would help her reach the gates safely.
