-san is the most common used japanese honorific. it can be used to address any noun and is gender neutral. :P it can be used in both formal and informal conversations. 

-sama is the more respectful form of -san, usually used for higher ranking individuals.

-chan is a (cutesy) way of addressing a female.
-kun is a (cutesy) way of addressing a male.

So on and so forth. Japanese honorifics are very fun to use, Mtntopview-san. Mari-chan thinks so.
