He met her eyes. "I came to apologize," he said bluntly. Ella kicked the back of his shin, making him wince. "He is sorry, dear," Ella insisted, "And truth be told, I'd rather be on your side vith our friends, than alone on his." Phillip grunted and Ella shrugged at him. It shrugged back and looked to the mermaid princess. "I am sorry if I insulted you," he said, "And there is truth to the saying that strength lies in numbers. I just never considered that maybe I'd have to be the one who asked." Ella was getting ready to hit him again, but he held up a hand. "I can be rude, I am very arrogant and I usual take no interest in uninteresting things. But I hate that Duck and I know what happens when you put warriors with a self-entitled would-be tyrant. As horrible as I am, I have one redeeming quality. I have an honor code." "If you plan to defend yourselves against this would-be tyrant with his blood crazed assassins, I would very much like to help," he said plainly, "There is no honor in winning power through manipulation and the blood of innocences." "Hate me all you like, I'll understand, but let me help you." Ella looked a bit surprised. For once Phillip was not focused on how grandur he presented himself. This Phillip was his knightly side, his kingly side. He recognized his flaws, accepted them, but he wanted to live up to his father's reign. And for once Ella believed he actually could.
